PRESS RELEASES

 

INCIDENT:           DWI

DATE / TIME:      04/01/2016 @ 2007 Hours

LOCATION:         Piney Creek Road, Chester, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputies responded to Piney Creek Road near Chester Station Lane for a vehicle collision. On arrival, EMS was about to transport the female driver of a Nissan for her injuries. The driver of the second vehicle a Volvo was out of his vehicle and walking around.

 

Contact was made and identified him as William McKinney McKelvy (32) of Chester. There was a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and McKelvy appeared to be having difficulty walking. Several field sobriety tasks were attempted and McKelvy stated he had a few cocktails and was going to the store when he swerved across yellow line striking the other car.

 

McKelvy was placed under arrest and charged with DWI and additional citations. He was later released on his signature.

DATE / TIME:      04/01/2016 @ 2230 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 8 near Chesapeake Estates drive, Stevensville

 

DETAILS:              A white Ford F-150 Pickup was observed crossing the center line on RT 8. Truck was stopped and driver had an odor of alcohol about his person. After several field sobriety tasks were attempted the driver, Jeffrey David Corder (49) of Stevensville was charged with DWI. After charging documents were issued, he was released to a sober family member at the scene.

INCIDENT:           MDOP

DATE / TIME:      04/02/2016 @ 1905 Hours

LOCATION:         100 Block of Talbot Road, Stevensville

 

DETAILS:              Victim reported returning home to find someone had thrown a stone paver thru the front window of the house. Victim stated he suspected a male subject he had been having issues with recently over a female.

 

The suspect was located a short time later and was walking in the area and intoxicated but denied any involvement.

Victim was transported to District Court to request a Peace Order which was issued. When Deputies went to serve the suspect, evidence was located possibly linking him to the damage. Charges are pending Lab Results.

INCIDENT:           THEFT

DATE / TIME:      04/03/2016 @ 1420 Hours

LOCATION:         1925 Main Street, Chester, MD

 

DETAILS:              Safeway management reported two subjects, a white male and an African American female had left the store with a shopping cart full of energy drinks and left in a green Honda. Employees were able to provide a tag number and that the male had a large tattoo on his neck.

 

Using the Mobile data terminal in the patrol car, the deputy was able to get a possible owner of the car that was a white male from Baltimore. A MVA photo showed the owner to have a large tattoo on his neck and matched the suspect on store video.

 

The eleven cases of Red Bull and five 4-Packs of Red Bull were valued at $245.

 

Charges are pending.

INCIDENT:           Possession of CDS

DATE / TIME:      04/04/2016 @ 0050 Hours

LOCATION:         100 block of Pine Ridge, Church Hill

 

DETAILS:              Report of a possible suspicious vehicle in the area. One parked car in the area was checked with two occupants, female and male. In plain view there was multiple blue paper heroin packs on the floorboard. A search of the car resulted in the seizure of additional heroin bundles and several unidentified pills.

 

The two suspects a 29 year old female from Church Hill and a 32 year old male from Galena were released pending lab results.

INCIDENT:           POSSESSION of CDS

DATE / TIME:      04/04/2016 @ 0156 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 18 near Shamrock Road, Chester, MD

 

DETAILS:              A silver Saturn passenger car was stopped for an equipment violation. Checks with MVA indicated that the tags on the car were cancelled and the car unregistered. During the stop Dfc. Ahern & K9 Blek arrived and scanned the car with a positive alert.

 

The three occupants were removed from the car and a search resulted in the seizure of a crack pipe, and from one passenger suspected tramadol pills.

 

The driver was issued traffic citations and all three 53 year old female from Grasonville, a male (48) from Stevensville and female (53) from Queenstown were released at the scene with CDS charges pending.

INCIDENT:           MVA

DATE / TIME:      4/4/2016 @ 1713 Hours

LOCATION:         300 Block of Prospect Bay Drive West, Grasonville

 

DETAILS:              Deputies dispatched to a single Motor Vehicle Accident . On arrival located a GMC pickup off the roadway that had struck mailboxes, a well pipe and two trees. The driver was being attended to by EMS personnel and they advised the odor of alcohol was present on the patient. The patient was transported to Shock Trauma for injuries.

 

Deputy responded to Shock Trauma and obtained a blood sample to submit to the lab. At that time the driver, a 79 year old male from Grasonville was considered in critical condition.

Crash investigation remains open pending lab results.
