Incident: Motor Vehicle Collision
Date/Time: 11/06/2013 @ 0930 Hours
Location: Main Street Grasonville
Narrative: This morning as the Shore-up bus slowed to make a turn, an oncoming Toyota Corolla and the bus sideswiped each other. Minor damage was incurred with a broken mirror on the Toyota and the bus bumper being scratched.
At the time of the accident 14 pre-school children, the driver and two other adults were on the bus.
The children all were taken to the Emergency Room in Grasonville as a matter of protocol. There were no reported injuries.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Investigation continues and charges are pending.

ARREST: Thomas Dean Raines (52) of Grasonville
CHARGE: DWI
NARRATIVE: A 2001 silver Toyota Sequoia was stopped for a traffic offense and the driver identified as Thomas Raines of Grasonville. An odor of alcohol was noted by the Deputy along with additional indicators and Mr. Raines was asked to exit his vehicle and attempt several field sobriety tasks. Based on observations he was placed under arrest for DWI. After processing and charges, he was released to a sober family member.

NARRATIVE: Victim Elizabeth Ritter of Stevensville reported someone breaking the window of her 2004 Mazda Truck during the night. Nothing was reported stolen and damage was estimated at $200.
Matthew Killian of Stevensville reported his window smashed on his 2006 Mitsubishi truck on Long Point Road. Victim stated nothing appeared to be missing and damage was estimated at $200.
Heather Brinkley reported damage to a Ford Taurus parked at Howard Road. The vehicles window had been smashed out and damages estimated at $200.
Deputies then responded to Allegany Road to meet with Nicholas Schneider who had found the window of his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado smashed out.

VICTIM: Janice Harms of Chester
NARRATIVE: Andrew Harms reported two suspicious males in the Safeway store shortly after midnight. The two males left the store without making a purchase and then were seen pushing shopping carts into the runoff pond off of the parking lot. After getting off of work he found his mother’s 1995 Honda Civic had been kicked on both rear quarter panels and believes the two may be involved. Damages were estimated at $2000.
The males were described as white males one with long blonde hair and hoop earrings and the other as having short hair.

NARRATIVE: Victim stated he had left his car in a parking lot on Wells Cove Road and upon returning in the morning he found his 2005 Dodge truck had dents in the driver’s side quarter panel, door and bed along with broken beer bottles. Damages were estimated to be over $1000.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported hearing a loud bang and finding a window screen dented and her mailbox knocked over with a footprint on it. Damages were estimated at $200. A dark colored passenger car was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed and not stopping for a stop sign.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported his white Saturn SUV was parked in front of his residence and the window was smashed out during the night. Victim also reported his black wallet with a chain was missing with cash and various cards.

NARRATIVE: It was reported to the Sheriff’s Office that sometime between noon on 10/27 and 0800 on the 28th, someone entered the property and removed several barn doors and wooden planks from the barn on the property. Items had an estimated value of $500.

NARRATIVE: Manager of the store reported one of their customer’s vehicles had been vandalized sometime between Friday at 7PM and Monday morning. A blue Kia Spectra had its window smashed out while parked in the parking lot. At an adjacent business, Service First Collision Repair three vehicles there had windows smashed out. Damages were estimated at $1000.

INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 100 Block of Jones Road, Chester
VICTIM: Michael Lee Taylor of Chester
ARREST: James Richard Radford (26) of Gambrills
CHARGE: Burglary 2nd Degree / Burglary 4th Degree / Theft / MDOP
NARRATIVE: Victim reported he found his shed broken into but nothing was missing. However he did find that his Yamaha boat motor was missing from his boat parked next to the shed. In addition his fuel tank and battery were also gone. Items valued at $3150.
State police working another burglary learned that a subject was attempting to sell an item similar to an items taken in another burglary on Jones Road. When a detective attempted to purchase the item it was discovered that it was the stolen item and arrested the suspect. Evidence located with the suspect implicated him to the burglary being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office.
Charges were applied for and issued for James Richard Radford of Gambrills MD. He was served the arrest warrant on 11/05/2013.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported the theft of a water jug with assorted change from his home. A security video shows a former girlfriend of a family member driving up to the residence during the afternoon and entering the residence. A short time later she is seen leaving the residence carrying an item to her vehicle. Charges are pending at this time.
