INCIDENT: Motor Vehicle Collision

VICTIM: 22yr Old W/F from Centreville

NARRATIVE: On 02/21/18 at 1738hrs, Sgt Sean Hampton responded to Corsica Neck Road near Willis Road in Centreville for a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. His investigation revealed that a driver was operating a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe west on Corsica Neck Road just prior to Willis road, when she crossed the center line and struck a 2014 ram 2500 truck being operated head on. The heavily damaged Hyundai Santa Fe came to rest on the south side of the roadway against a utility pole. Units from the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Services Department, along with the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Department and the Queenstown volunteer Fire Department worked for more than 30 minutes to free the victim from the wreckage. Once she was extricated, she was transported by MSP Trooper 6 to Shock Trauma for treatment. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Queenstown Emergency Center for treatment. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing and charges are pending.

INCIDENT: Suspicious Activity / CDS Possession

LOCATION: 7-11 Convenience Store @ 107 Dominion Road Chester, MD
Arrest: Linda Bartholomew – w/female
DETAILS: Deputies observed the female later identified as Linda Bartholomew, involved in what appeared to be suspicious activity in the area of the 7-11 convenience store. Deputies conducted an investigative stop of Ms. Bartholomew. During this time she was found to be in possession of a short circular piece of metal tubing which contained a small amount of suspected cocaine. Linda Bartholomew was subsequently arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for the booking process. She was later seen by the District Court Commissioner at the Commissioner’s Office. She was held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention center on a $2,000.00 bond.

DRIVER: 53 yr. old male from Seaford, Delaware
LOCATION: Discovery Lane near Perry’s Corner Road Grasonville
DETAILS: Vehicle was traveling west on Discovery Lane. Driver failed to give full attention and left the travel portion of the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch and overturned. The gravel roadway and the ditch were significantly damaged due to the weight of the vehicle. Chambers Towing removed the vehicle from the scene. No injuries were reported.

INCIDENT: Identity Theft

LOCATION: 100 Block of Snyder Lane Chestertown, MD
DETAILS: Complainant advised that she had recently attempted to open a Sprint cellular service account, at which time she was advised that an account was already open under her social security number. The complainant stated that she was advised that the account had been opened 9 years ago, but this was the first that she had been made aware of this. Additionally there was an outstanding balance on the account of $367. The complainant was advised what steps to take in contacting the Social Security Administration as well as cred bureaus. Case investigation is ongoing.
