CRITICAL MISSING PERSON

 

 

INCIDENT:  Critical Missing Person

 

LOCATION: Starr Road, Centreville

 

SUBJECT:   Cortland Read Lambert (23) of Centreville

 

NARRATIVE:  Reported missing by his family on Thursday afternoon after last being seen on Wednesday leaving his residence. A search of the immediate area near the family residence was started on Thursday evening and resumed on Friday using search teams, DNR K9 and aviation units.

 

Lambert is 6’2″ – 200 Pounds with brown hair and eyes. He possibly is distraught over a delay in his plans to go into the military. A shotgun is missing from the residence and may be in his possession.

INCIDENT:          Disorderly / Failure to Obey Lawful Order

DATE / TIME:     03/01/2014 @ 0215 Hours

LOCATION:         Black Beard Road & Nesbit Road, Grasonville

 

ARREST:              John Long Oertly III (21) of Chester

CHARGE:            Disorderly / Failure to Obey Lawful Order

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies located a stationary pickup on the Nesbit Road overpass and when checking fund it to be unoccupied running with the lights on and several containers of alcoholic beverages. Two male subjects were located nearby and both denied driving the truck. Both of the males were uncooperative and appeared to be under the influence. Two other males were observed running from the overpass and into a brush area with one returning a short time later, later identified as John Oertly. While trying to make arrangements to get the truck moved from the traveling portion of the road, Oertly became more belligerent and started to shout obscenities. When someone responded to pick up the males, Oertly refused to leave and continued to distract the deputies and was placed under arrest.

 

After processing, he went before a District Court Commissioner who released him on his personal recognizance.

ARREST:              Amanda Lynn Strade (26) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            Theft

 

NARRATIVE:       Store Security detained a female, identified as Amanda Strade after observing her leaving the store with unpaid merchandise concealed in her purse. The items, hair products and pillow cases were valued at $140. She was released at the store with charges pending.

 

On March 10th she was served a Criminal Summons charging her with Theft.

LOCATION:         3200 Block of Peters Corner Road, Marydel, MD.

VICTIM:                Maryann E. McCormick of Marydel, MD.

CHARGE:            Theft ($10,000 to $100,000)

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported finding several pieces of jewelry missing despite no apparent break-in. The responding deputy ran several names provided by the victim in the pawn database and located several possible pieces had been pawned by a subject with ties to the family at several locations. Another family member also reported missing several jewelry items after the suspect had house sat .

 

The stolen jewelry was valued at over $10,000. Several of the items have been held at the pawn locations pending assistance from police in Delaware. Charges have been issued and are pending service.

INCIDENT:          Underage Possession of Alcohol

DATE / TIME:     03/01/2014 @ 2321 Hours

LOCATION:         1400 Block of Sudlersville Road, Sudlersville

 

CITATION:          6 Juveniles (ages 16-17) from Stevensville, Centreville, Sudlersville and  Church Hill

CHARGE:            Underage possession of Alcohol

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies acting on a tip of an underage alcohol party responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Sudlersville Road. On arrival numerous vehicles were parked at and near the residence. In one of the vehicles they located a 16 year old female who was extremely intoxicated. She was transported to Chester River Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.

 

Inside the residence additional juveniles were in various states of intoxication. Parents were notified and citations for possession were issued.

LOCATION:         Dulin Clark Road, Centreville

VICTIM:              Lynda Lecrone – Nora Duty – Larry Wilkins – Susan Elkins

All from Centreville

 

NARRATIVE:       Several residents on Dulin Clark Road reported their vehicles had been tampered with and in some cases items taken. Ms. Lecrone was missing a Garmin GPS valued at $220 and Ms. Elkins reported a Nikon Coolpix Camera valued at $100 was gone. None of the vehicle owners reported any  damage.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported expecting a package to be delivered by UPS and located two envelopes with packing information but no package. Checking the tracking number UPS indicated the box had been delivered. The package was valued at $360.

LOCATION:         RT 300 @ Leager Road, Sudlersville

 

ARREST:              Wayne Davis Martine (49) of Townsend Delaware

CHARGE:            Disorderly Conduct – Possession of CDS

 

NARRATIVE:       Sudlersville Fire Chief had located an intoxicated male in the roadway disrupting traffic. On arrival, Deputy Parks was told by the subject he was walking home and insisted he was in Delaware. As he became louder and more uncooperative, he was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of suspected CDS (Pills).

 

A District Court Commissioner held Martine on a $10,000 bond.

LOCATION:         Creekside Commons Court, Stevensville

VICTIM:                 Jill Litz of Stevensville

ARREST:              Jeffery Armfield Kirkman (44) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            Assault

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies were called to the location following an argument between the two. Victim advised that the male had ended the argument by slapping her on the face and then fled. Ms. Litz had noticeable redness on her face and Jeffery Kirkman was located a short time later nearby. He was placed under arrest for Assault.

DATE / TIME:     03/02/2014 @ 2314 Hours

LOCATION:         Wye Moor Court, Queenstown

VICTIM:                Mark Treanor and Linda Buck – both from Queenstown

ARREST:              Pending

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies were dispatched to the area for a vehicle doing “Doughnuts” in a front yard of a residence. As they arrived, they saw a gold colored Ford Explorer leaving the area and attempted to stop it. The Explorer accelerated and entered the RT 50 highway, striking a guardrail and going airborne. The Explorer landed upright and continued along the guardrail and continued to accelerate as high as 90 MPH. Due to the weather and traffic conditions efforts to stop the vehicle were stopped.

 

Returning to the area, they found several areas with extensive damage to lawns estimated well over $500.

 

Information about the incident and a similar vehicle picture was posted on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page and on the homeowners association site and a suspect was developed. Follow-up investigation located the vehicle in the Preston area.

 

Charges are pending at this time.

INCIDENT:          Suspicious Activity

DATE / TIME:     03/12/2014 @ 1835 Hours

LOCATION:         Davol Road, Cloverfields, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       A teenage female reported she was walking on Davol Road when a small silver vehicle pulled up near her. The driver described as an older white male (50’s) almost bald and with a moustache asked her “Sweetie do you want a ride.” The female said no and ran to a friend’s house. The vehicle then drove north on Davol.

It was reported that the man did not offer her and incentive to enter the vehicle, made no physical movement towards her and did not follow her.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle / driver.
