INCIDENT: Stolen Property Recovery
DATE / TIME: 01/30/2012 @ 1430 Hours
LOCATION: Hammondtown Road near Harrington DE
NARRATIVE: Detective Goodman of the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit was contacted by Delaware State Police after they located a Boston Whaler dumped in the roadway. A citizen in the area advised DSP that they saw a white Chevrolet or GMC truck towing a boat. A short time later, the truck went by again going the opposite way with the trailer, but no boat. Being a fairly remote area, the citizen went down the road a short distance to find the boat in the roadway. Further inspection of the boat showed it to be stripped down of most it’s parts and quite damaged. At this time, the only description of the driver is he was a white male. Investigation remains open.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported that sometime between the 20th and 24th someone had stolen his boat that was parked in the business park. The boat was described as a Boston Whaler 200 Dauntless with a Mercury Outboard on a Venture trailer. A John Deere Z-Track mower was also missing. The items were valued at $64,000.

INCIDENT: Unauthorized Use of MV

LOCATION: 500 Block of Long Point Road, Grasonville
VICTIM: Gregory A. Maclellen of Grasonville
ARREST: Noell Angela Joseph (32) of Towson, MD
CHARGES: Unauthorized Use of MV and Theft
NARRATIVE: Victim advised a family member, Noell Angela Joseph had taken his vehicle on the 25th and had refused to return it. The vehicle is a white 2001 Jaguar valued at $20,000. On the 28th, the victim was contacted by the Baltimore City Police advising that his car had been involved in an accident, the driver (Joseph) had been arrested and taken to Central Booking.
Based on the information an application for charges was submitted to the District Court Commissioner and an Arrest Warrant was issued charging Ms. Joseph with Theft and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. She is currently being held in Baltimore City and a detainer has been lodged by Queen Anne’s County Sheriff.

NARRATIVE: Victim advised that her 16 year old son was out of control and was tearing the house up. On arrival deputies found a door ripped off the hinges, a damaged vacuum cleaner and iron and broken dishes and other items thrown about in the kitchen. The juvenile admitted to doing the damage and was taken into custody and later committed to Juvenile Services.

INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 304 Evans Avenue, Grasonville
VICTIM: Winchester Liquors
NARRATIVE: Police responded to location in response to an alarm. On arrival they found the front door smashed and no one in the building. Security video showed a tall subject breaking the door glass, entering the building and appeared to be taking items from a cigarette display. The suspect was last seen exiting the store and running towards Evans Avenue. The suspect is believed to be a tall male (over 6 feet) wearing a mask or ski cap, orange gloves and carrying a black & red backpack. Damage was estimated at $800 with no estimate on the theft loss.

INCIDENT: Fight Call

CHARGES: Assault & Failure to Obey a Lawful Order
NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to location to assist MSP with a fight call at APOS Pizzeria which had moved to the Royal Farms store. As a MSP trooper was making an arrest in the store, numerous other subject were present and were asked to move off of the parking lot. One individual continued to get in the way and was told several times to leave, eventually going outside where he pushed a Chestertown Police Officer who was assisting with the call. Graig Jamal Turner was placed under arrest and transported from the scene to Sheriff’s Headquarters and charged with Assault and Failure to obey a lawful order. A District Court Commissioner held Turner on a $5000 Bail and he was taken to the QA Detention Center.

INCIDENT: Loud Party
DATE / TIME: 01/28/2012 @ 2325 Hours
LOCATION: 100 Block of Yewell Road, Queenstown
ARREST: See Narrative
NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to location for a loud party complaint. On arrival, subjects were observed running from the rear door of the residence and into the woods. Others were seen running to the Bennett Point Store where vehicles were parked. Deputies detained as many as possible. Investigation indicated there were 30-40 “guests” many of which appeared to be underage. A parent at the scene advised he had just come home to find his son hosting a party and that subjects were being told to leave. Several subjects were issued Civil Citations for possession of alcohol and released to parents at the scene. While deputies and troopers were at the scene , they heard a loud sound at the Bennett Point Store. When they looked over, they saw a silver Mazda had backed into a Sheriff’s Patrol car. The driver, Julia Suzette Clark (18) of Chester stopped when told to do so. Based on the odor of alcohol and appearance, she was asked to try several field sobriety tasks and as a result placed under arrest for DWI. After processing at the Sheriff’s Headquarters she was released to a parent. Damage to the Patrol Car was estimated at $ 500.
