NARRATIVE: Victim reported missing three rings from his residence valued at $nearly $30 thousand dollars. The rings were last seen on mid-December and noticed missing on December 24th. The rings were described as an oval Emerald & Diamond on a platinum mounting, a tsavorite & sapphire ring set accented by diamonds in yellow gold ring set, and a Albert Meadow specialty ring. Follow-up investigation has been assigned to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

NARRATIVE: Deputies were called to Rustico restaurant in Stevensville for a disturbance. On arrival the disturbance had been resolved but they met a male subject, John Cary who appeared as if he were intoxicated. Mr. Cary stated he was not driving and was waiting for a family member to arrive to take him home. Deputies returned to their patrol car and as they went to leave they saw the Cary subject drive past them in a green Ford Truck. The truck turned onto RT 8 as swerved several times and was stopped near RT 50 overpass. After attempted field sobriety tasks, Cary was placed under arrest for DWI. He was later released to a sober family member.

NARRATIVE: Deputies dispatched to location for a verbal disturbance. On arrival two subjects were interviewed a juvenile female and Charles Cantello. It was noticed that both subjects had been drinking and indicated that they were. The juvenile was issued a civil citation for alcohol possession and detained until a parent arrived. Mr. Cantello was issued a civil citation for alcohol possession and released on his signature at the residence.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported that someone had taken her four foot tall Snow Woman and Santa Claus lawn ornaments from her front yard. While taking the items the thief (s) damaged a small Christmas tree and additional lights. In addition someone had broken the parking lots on her Ford pickup parked in the driveway. Damages were estimated at $140 and theft loss at $50. Victim stated that the incident may have occurred around 10 PM as her dogs were barking.

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to location for an alarm call and on arrival found the glass entrance door shattered. Search of the building failed to located a suspect. Video of the incident showed a suspect wearing a light hooded sweatshirt and dark pants breaking the glass and then taking cigars and cigarettes from behind the counter. Damages were estimated at $1000 and Theft Loss at $778.

NARRATIVE: Incident was captured on security video which showed suspects smashing the front door of the business entering and taking cigarettes. A K9 tracked the suspects to a residence on New Street where Bordley & Meyers were taken into custody. Damage to the store was estimated st $1000 and the stolen cigarettes were valued at $55. Bordley was held on a $10,000 bail. Meyers’ bail was set at $3000.

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to location for a domestic. On arrival they learned that the male subject (Voegtle) had several minor stab wounds on his back from a butter knife and stated Taylor had stabbed him. Voegtle refused any medical treatment at the scene. Taylor was taken into custody and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment. She was later held on a $50,000 bail.

INCIDENT: Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute

CHARGE: Possession of Marijuana; Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana; Consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving; Attempting to elude police; speeding; Reckless Driving; Driving without Driver’s License
NARRATIVE: A 2012 Toyota 4 door passenger vehicle was observed traveling south at 89 miles per hour in a 55 MPH zone. When the Deputy pulled behind the car , it began to speed up to speeds of over 125 MPH. As the vehicle approached RT 304 slower moving traffic, a tractor trailer and pickup were blocking the roadway and the driver went into center median area in an attempt to pass and was stopped. The sole occupant was the driver later identified as Benjamin I. Robinson. The driver resisted exiting the car and was force had to be used to take him into custody. Robinson advised he had no identification but was suspended in New York. The Toyota was a rental car which was scanned by a K9. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two larger bags and three smaller baggies of suspected marijuana, a portable scale, two cell phones and $617 in cash. After processing at Sheriff’s Headquarters, Robinson was held at the QA Detention Center on a $10,000 Bail.

NARRATIVE: Deputies were dispatched to location for a report of an MDOP. On arrival they met with Kristyn M. Sample who reported her friend and her had an argument after which he went outside and began to punch a 2008 Mitsubishi belonging to Ms. Sample’s mother. The driver’s door had a dent in it near the door handle. Damages were estimated at $700. Attempts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful. Victim was advised of process to request charges and left the scene.

NARRATIVE: Deputies were in the area assisting MSP attempting to locate a subject. A 2007 Honda Civic was stopped for speeding (34/25) and driver identified as Robert McGrory by his MD license. A strong odor of alcohol was coming from the car and the driver stated they had been to a party. Driver was requested to attempt several field sobriety tasks and afterward was placed under arrest for DWI. Driver refused any breath test, was issued a temporary license and was released at the scene to the passenger .

NARRATIVE: Victim reported the passenger window of his 2000 Nissan passenger car had been broken out. Nothing was reported taken from the car and damage was estimated at $200. A canvas of the neighborhood resulted in locating additional vehicles with damage including a Gold Mercedes on Calvert Road, a gold Buick on Buckingham Drive, a white Chevrolet Trailblazer on William Way and a silver Saturn parked on Chesapeake Drive. All vehicles had a window damaged by a BB or pellet gun.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported finding that someone had driven in his field damaging his winter wheat crops. Damages were estimated at about $1000. While talking to the victim, Deputy Armington saw a pickup with Florida tags driving by with a large amount of mud on it. The vehicle was located a short distance away, only it no longer had the Florida tags. The driver admitted that the tags were not any good but denied having any involvement with the damage to the crops. Further interview of the driver result in his admission to driving in the field. Charges are pending.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported traveling with a friend and his girlfriend from Ocean City to Sykesville to purchase a transmission. On the way back, the friend and his girlfriend began to argue. When the victim intervened the male friend assaulted him by striking him several times in the face. At some point, the female also assisted in assaulting the victim. The victim was then dropped off on the side of RT 301 and the two suspects left. Victim had a bloody right eye but refused medical treatment and could not decide if he wanted them charged or not. Arrangements were made to have another friend to pick the victim up. Alcohol may have been involved in this incident.

INCIDENT: Violation of School Policy
DATE / TIME: 12/18/2012 @ 0929 Hours (Reported)
LOCATION: Kent Island Elementary School, Stevensville
SUSPECT: Child age (6) of Grasonville
NARRATIVE: The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the school principle, Lawrence Dunn who stated that a school bus driver had reported picking up several students at a stop and one child had given him six bullets as the child got on the bus.
Investigation of the incident resulted in the search of the child, book bag and the classroom areas which resulted in no additional rounds being found. Interview of the child revealed that while visiting a relative over the weekend, the ammunition was found in a dish or basket at the residence. The bus driver was given the bullets by the child so he could go hunting. The child denied wanting to hurt anyone.
Interviews were also completed with a parent who indicated there were no weapons at home. In addition, the relative where the child had visited reported that there are firearms at that residence but are locked and secure.
Due to the child’s age, no criminal charges could be placed. School officials advised that the child would be suspended.
