NARRATIVE:        Deputy Matthews was diospatched to location after security at the store observed two subjects in the store removing items from their packaging and concealing. As the two were leaving the store, they were detained by Security Personnel and Deputy Matthews. Subjects were identified as April M. Lee of Easton and James E. Alderson of Queenstown.


Ms. Lee’s purse was searched and stolen property was located including razor blades, shower curtain, eye shadow, nail polish, swim suits and a drink holder. Items were valued at $112.88.


Subjects were released at the store and Criminal Summonses were issued on June 7th charging the two with theft. Service of the summonses is pending.

NARRATIVE:        Victim called 911 after taking an intentional overdose of medications. Victim indicated he wanted to harm himself over a relationship. Victim was transported by ambulance to Chester River Medical Center for treatment.

VICTIM:               Judy Duer of Stevensville


NARRATIVE:        Victim reported missing two handguns from her residence. Victim advised the guns were in an unlocked gun safe and last seen on May 23rd. No sign of forced entry however victim stated there has been occasions the home was unlocked.


The handguns are described as (1) a stainless steel Ruger Mark II .22 Caliber semi-automatic and (2) a nichel plated Colt Officer’s Model .45 semi-automatic with Pachmeyer grips and a combat sight. The two guns were va;lued at $1000.

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported discovering tools missing from a shed at Beech Lane.  Victim advised he no longer lives at that location and last saw the tools around May 1st. No forced entry to the shed was appearent. Victim was unable at the time of the report to advise what was missing and an estimated value. Case remains open…

VICTIM:               St. Christopher’s Catholic Church


NARRATIVE:        Custodian at the church discovered a broken window next to the air conditioning pumps. Entry was made into the church with sevral rooms ( kitchen, classrooms and office) showing signs of being rummaged thru. Evidence at the scene indicated a suspect had incurred a cut during the burglary. Missing from the church was a set of keys.


Earlier in the morning there was a report of a suspicious small white pickup in the area but by the time police arrived it was gone. The investigation has been assigned to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

NARRATIVE:        Deputies were dispatched to the location for a loud party complaint. On arrival they located numerous vehicles along the road. While approaching the residence they were met by a male with a strong odor of alkcohol on his breath who advised he was 19. Deputies and the male then went to the backyard where 25-30 persons were located. Deputies saw several persons climbing over the rear fence upon seeing them. Depuuties learned in was a party for a female who lives at that location and that she denied knowing who brought alcohol. Contact was made with a parent in the house who advised he had given her permission tro drink but no one else. Four youths at the party were identified as being under 21 and having consumed alchol.  While issueing a civil citation to one of the underage persons, Joshua A. Reece, he attempted several times to grab his license from Sgt. Johnston. When he managed to grab the license, Reece turned and began to run away refuseing to stop, jumped on an old car near the fence and attempted to go over the fence. However Reece ended up between the car and fence suffering minor injuries. He was placed under arrest and later held on a $3000 bail by a District Court Commissioner.

NARRATIVE:        Victim reported he had purchased a Bryant 3 ton AC / HVAC unit to install at a residence on Main street in Sudlersville. Victim advised he left the unit under the rear stairs. When he returned sevral days later to install the unit he discovered it to be missing. A black Ford Focus with Maryland plates was seen leaving the area with a large object in the rear on the evening of June 7th. The unit was valued at $600.

NARRATIVE:        School Resource Deputy Jeremy Davidson took a report of a stolen iPad 2 valued at $500from a classroom at the school. While taking that report a teacher, Ms. Parkinson advised someone had been stealing from her, a $100 bill last week and today a $20 bill.

LOCATION:         Prospect Bay, Grasonville

VICTIM:               Prospect Bay Golf Course


NARRATIVE:        Rich Setter, Genertal Manager reported finding a door damaged from  a common area to the kitchen/service area. A closer look revealed that a half gallon bottle of rum and some candy was missing.  Further check of the area showed damage to plastic line stakes on the golf course and assorted debris on the course. It was also reported that several mailboxes in the immediate area were damaged. A canvas of the neighborhood resulted in learning that a juvenile in the area was seen that morning fixing several of the damaged mailboxes. Damages to the Golf Course building was estimated at $100 with the stolen items at $50.

INCIDENT:           Underage Possession of Alcohol

DATE / TIME:      06/09/2012 @ 1323 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 50 at Sportsman’s Neck, Queenstown


NARRATIVE:        Deputy Matthews observed a traffic violation by the driver of a Ford pickup with a total of five males in it. The driver was issued a warning for the violation. During the stop Deputy Matthews saw there was a camouflage bag with outlines showing of boxes. The driver advised they were on their way to Ocean City and that all five were under the age of 21. The driver stated there were no drugs or alcohol in the truck and to go ahead and look.


As a result six thirty packs of beer, six fifths of Vodka and a fifth of gin were seized. The driver, Cory Anthony Swiger (20) of Hagerstown claimed ownership of the alcohol and was able to produce a sales receipt for $327. Swiger was issued an Adult Civil Citation for Underage Possession of Alcohol and reeleased from the scene.

NARRATIVE:     A 2001 Kia passenger car was stopped for a speeding violation. After the stop the driver, a 17 Year old Female from Boonsboro gave consent to check her vehicle and in the trunk deputies located 22 bottles of wine coolers and 3 bottles of wine.  Both the driver and passenger, Francis Earl James (19) of Hagerstown were issued citations for underage possession of alcohol. The parent of the juvenile was contacted and requested that she be released in custody of the passenger. Both individuals were released at the stop location.

NARRATIVE:     Sgt. Jones stopped a 2000 Buick for traffic violations and identified Brian M. Ross as the driver. After the stop, Ross stated his passengers were 18 & 19 years of age and agreed to open the trunk of the car. Once open several cases of beer were observed. A search of the car resulted in locating and seizing two baggies of Marijuana, a  small baggie of Cocaine, two smoking devices, and 24 capsules of “Amphet Salts” or Adderall.


All three of the subjects were placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters. A total of $1248 was seized from the three by the QA Narcotics Task Force. All three were issued a civil citation for underage possession of alcohol and charging documents. They were later released on their personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

NARRATIVE:     Victim reported that she had parked her car Park & Ride at about 8 AM on June 10th, returning later that day at 3PM. Upon returning she found the window broken and a blue purse with a wallet and several credit cards which was on the seat missing. The purse & wallet was estimated at $50. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $150.

VICTIM:              John J. Cahill III of Chester


NARRATIVE:     Victim advised he stores his 1996 Vent trailer at the community storage lot and last saw the trailer on May 25th. On June 11th he found the trailer to be missing. The trailer is described as Silver colored with a plywood floor and sides with a rear gate of 2×4’s. The trailer when he ;left it had a hitch lock attached and was valued at $1500.

VICTIM:              Golf Cart Sales & Service of Greensboro, MD


NARRATIVE:     Vicky Saxon, event coordinator for the “Great Chesapeake Bay Swim” reported that she had rented three golf carts from the Golf Cart Sales & Service for the event. On June 9th the three carts were parked in the area of Hemingway’s near the water’s edge and that they were due to be picked up on June 10th. When the owners arrived there was only two carts there.


The golf cart is a white E-Z go model, gas powered two passenger model valued at $3400.
