NARRATIVE: Victim reported he and his wife were driving home when the vehicle in front of them stopped and the male driver confronted them accusing them of following too close. Victim reported being struck on the face by the man. The victim’s wife called 911 and wrote down the tag number of the suspect vehicle. The suspect was located at his residence and admitted to stopping and confronting the victim about following him too close but denied striking anyone. Victim was advised of the process to file charges if desired.

NARRATIVE: A 2008 Jeep Truck was reported to be abandoned in the roadway on Fairview Drive. Deputy responded and was unable to locate the driver or owner at the scene. Efforts to contact the registered owner in Delaware were also unsuccessful. Vehicle was towed and stored.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported being out of town for several days and upon returning home found the house ransacked. Victim reported a 52 inch flat screen television had been removed from the wall along with a blue ray DVD player in her bedroom. A further check of the residence showed two additional televisions missing, a 47” and a 32”, another DVD player, a Wii game console and a Play Station 3. Theft amounts were estimated at $7,160.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported that unknown person(s) had taken an 8D battery and copper pipes from an irrigation system sometime in the past 24 hour. The battery & pipe were valued at $400. The pipe which was buried had to be dug up and cut between the intake and relief nozzles on the pump. Investigation remains open.

NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to residence in response to a domestic assault. Victim reported being struck several times on the head by her husband and had minor injuries consistent with her statements. John Ittu was located in the residence and placed under arrest for assault. After processing at the Sheriff’s Headquarters, he was later released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

ARREST: Phillip Eugene Cornish (56) of Chester
CHARGE: Assault
NARRATIVE: Family members of the victim called to report her missing after leaving their residence to go to the store five hours earlier and leaving with a male acquaintance. Prior to arrival the complainant called back and reported that Cornish had called and reported that the victim had struck a tree on Newtown Road and then walked away. Deputies located a red Pontiac parked on a farm lane on Newtown Road and the victim approached the deputies. She was crying, bleeding from lacerations to her head and neck and appeared to be intoxicated. The victim stated the two were engaged in sex but then changed her mind, exited the vehicle and began to walk home. According to the victim, Cornish followed her in his car and located her on the farm lane where he struck her in the face several times with his fist.
Cornish was placed under arrest for assault and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. A District Court Commissioner held him on a $10,000 Bond. He was released later on the 18th after having a Bail Bondsman post his bail.

VICTIM: Victoria Disbrow of Westminster, MD
ARREST: Steven Newman (55) of Westminster, MD
CHARGE: Assault
NARRATIVE: Following a report of a woman being assaulted in front of Chico’s at the Queenstown Outlets deputies to the location. On arrival the two subjects were separated. Statements by the subjects indicated that they were returning from Ocean City and the two began to argue. The victim who was driving, then pulled into the Outlets and told Mr. Newman to get out of the car. Witnesses added that when the victim exited the car and opened the trunk, Newman began to get items out of the trunk and then shoved the victim causing her to fall to the pavement. As she attempted to get up, witnesses said Newman then punched in the head. Both subjects advised they previously lived together and were still involved in a relationship.
Mr. Newman was placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. A District Court Commissioner later released Newman on his personal recognizance.

INCIDENT: CDS POSSESSION

CHARGE: Possession of Marijuana / Possession of CDS (Not Marijuana / Possession of CDS Paraphernalia
NARRATIVE: Deputies were dispatched to Chesapeake Estates for a report of two vehicles with loud exhaust in the area. While enroute there, Deputy Jordan passed a small truck with loud exhaust going north on RT 8. He turned and stopped the truck near Bay City. With the odor of alcohol present, when asked the driver and passenger denied drinking. After seeing suspected marijuana on the passenger floor, the driver admitted to having a glass smoking device in the sunglass holder of the truck. Further search on the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a second glass smoking device, suspected marijuana and a container with a portion of a straw and crushed pills reported to be adderol from the passenger’s pocket book. The female also claimed ownership of a near empty bottle of rum that was also located in the truck.
As a result the female’s parents were contacted and they responded to the location to take custody of her. She was referred to Juvenile services for the three charges. Charges for the smoking device are pending on the driver.

NARRATIVE: Victims reported finding their houses and vehicles had been egged during the night. Victim found broken eggs on garage doors, on the roof and in driveways. In addition the air had been let out of a tire on one truck and several trees had been “toilet papered”. After talking with several juveniles in the area, three males had admitted to the acts. As a result two have been referred to Juvenile Services for MDOP. Charges are pending on the third.

Investigation showed the residence had been ransacked with cabinets opened, mattresses flipped and closets opened. It was reported that a possible suspect vehicle was a red passenger car.

NARRATIVE: AT&T site manager Cortland Suggs reported that unknown subjects had entered the gated and locked cell site and stole thirty to forty six foot sections of 10 and 20 gauge copper wire valued at an estimated $2000. There was no sign of forced entry. A witness advised that last week there was a white truck at the location but appeared to be workers. The complaintenant stated there was no record of work being down at that location.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported that Ms. Garrettson had entered her apartment and had taken her cell phone valued at $150 without her permission. Victim was aware of this since Garrettson had told her. Dfc. Sewell responded to the area and located Ms. Garrettson who was in possession of the cell phone. Garrettson stated she had taken the phone because the victim had failed to return a kindle.
Garrettson was placed under arrest and charged with burglary and theft. She was later released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

NARRATIVE: Deputies saw a blue Buick passenger car traveling on the roadway with damage to the front passenger tire. The tire was dragging on the roadway causing the car to skid. The vehicle was stopped and found to be driven by Jonathan Lee Wood. Driver had an odor of alcohol on his breath and was asked for the registration to the vehicle had handed the deputy emissions papers. When asked to step from the car, he needed to use the door and roof for balance. Field sobriety tasks were attempted and then Wood was placed under arrest for DWI. After charges he was later released to a sober family member.

Victim stated he let his dog out at 0130 hours and saw the cords still there and left the garage door open. At 0530 he noticed metal wagon from the garage near the road and checked to discover the cords were missing. The extension cords were valued at $500.

ARREST: Timothy Warren Wayson (51) of Sudlersville

NARRATIVE: Deputy Ahearn responded to the residence for a reported assault. Mr. Tim Wayson reported that his friend, Ruby Sheridan had assaulted him by pushing him and slapping his face. No injuries were reported and Ms.. Sheridan had left prior to arrival. Mr. Wayson advised he would get charges.
At 2004 hours Deputy Ahearn met with Ms. Sheridan for a requested domestic standby. On arrival to the residence, Mr. Wayson exited the house screaming profanities and refused to allow her to get her belongings. As Ms. Sheridan began to leave, Mr. Wayson kicked the tailgate and then spit on Ms. Sheridan. At that point he was placed under arrest for assault. After processing, Wayson was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.
At Mr. Wayson’s submission of an application for charges, a criminal summons was issued for Ms. Sheridan.

NARRATIVE: While assisting MSP with an assault call, Deputy Neall was checking vehicle at the Park & Ride. He stopped to check a white Chrysler Crossfire with an open door. In the driver’s seat was a female. Later Identified as Bonnie J. Bumford. Ms. Bumford had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and stated she had driven then from a nearby restaurant and was waiting for her ex-husband to pick her up. Ms. Bumford had difficulty standing and was unable to attempt any field sobriety tasks when asked. She was placed under arrest and charged with DWI.

INCIDENT: Driving with Proper Driver’s License

NARRATIVE: A yellow Nissan Xterra was observed crossing the center and side lines several times within a short distance on RT 213. Upon turning onto RT 300 the Nissan would speed up and then slow down. After turning onto Hall road it went off the roadway several times. It was stopped near RT 301. The driver, identified as Irna Morales advised thru a passenger translation that she did not have a license. It was determined that she had not been drinking, just inexperienced driving.
Morales was placed under arrest for driving without a license and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. A family member responded to the stop location to pick up the children in the vehicle. She was also cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to stay right of center. A District Court Commissioner later released her on her recognizance.
