PRESS RELEASE

On October 28th the Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drug Free Coalition Prescription Round-Up events, The Kent Island Elks Lodge Prescription Round Up, and the DEA National Drug Take back Day. In total, one hundred fourteen pounds (114 lbs.) of medicines were collected. The drugs were subsequently turned over to the DEA for destruction on 10/30/17.

INCIDENT: Theft (Less than $1,000 from building)
DATE / TIME: 10/28/17 at 2025 hrs
LOCATION: Book Warehouse at the Queenstown Outlets
SUSPECT: Unknown
DETAILS: Victim reported her entire purse was stolen from behind the sales counter. Victim is an employee at the location of incident. Purse along with contents is valued at approximately $400 dollars. No suspect information could be provided. A canvass of the area of the outlets revealed negative results.

INCIDENT: Theft from vehicle
DATE AND TIME REPORTED: 10/28/17 1337 hours
LOCATION: Old Love Pt Park in Stevensville, MD 21666
VICTIM: W/F of Chester, MD
NARRATIVE: Deputy responded to the park for a report of theft from vehicle. Victim stated that she left her vehicle parked in the lot. She left the area and returned later to find that someone had stolen her purse from inside the car. Credit cards and other items were inside the purse. This case remains open pending further investigation.

LOCATION: 100 Blk of Spring Rd Millington, MD 21651
VICTIM: W/F Millington, MD 21651
NARRATIVE: Deputy responded to an address in reference to a theft from vehicle. The victim advised that someone stole the rear license plate from her vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.

INCIDENT: Hit and Run – M/V crash
DATE / TIME: 10/27/17 at 1:38PM
LOCATION: 700 blk Abruzzi Dr., Chester, Md.
DETAILS: QACSO units responded for 2 vehicle crash where one of the vehicles had left the scene. On 10/30/17 information was forwarded to the QACSO advising the suspect vehicle is a Mini Cooper, Ivory colored with dark/possibly brown stripes, damage to the front, passenger side and driven by a white female, in her 20’s with blond hair. The victim was driving a black, Nissan Rogue suv. Anyone with further info, contact QACSO.

LOCATION: Online Scam
VICTIM: 63 Y/O female from Stevensville, MD 21666
DETAILS: Deputies responded to Stevensville and met with the 63 year old female victim whom advised that unknown suspect(s) withdrew $9,500.00 from one of her bank accounts. The transaction occurred online from an unknown location.

LOCATION: 613 Hayden Road Centreville, MD
VICTIM: Clinton Nurseries
DETAILS: Deputies responded to the location in regards to a past theft complaint. Upon arrival they learned unknown suspect(s) caused damage to air conditioning units by removing copper piping from them. The total estimated value of the damage and theft is approx.. $1,000.00
