PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT:     Theft

LOCATION:     Chester Convenient Store @ 120 Chester Station Road Chester, MD

COMPLAINANT:     Muzammil Hayat, 22 yr. old male from Chester, MD 

DETAILS:     Complainant advised that an unknown white male wearing a gray sweat suit walked into the store and walked directly to the beer cooler. The unknown male grabbed an 18 pack of Bud Light beer, valued at $15.  The complainant advised that the suspect walked past the checkout counter and then ran out of the store.  The complainant said that the suspect got into an unknown make or model blue hatchback vehicle with an unknown registration, and drove away.  Investigation is ongoing.

LOCATION:     KIHS @ 900 Old Love Point Road, Stevensville, MD 

VICTIM:     Two 16 yr. old juvenile males from KIHS

SUSPECTS:     15 yr. old juvenile male from KIHS, two other unknown males

DETAILS:      During a girls’ varsity basketball game in the main gym, the boys’ basketball team was practicing in the auxiliary gym and briefly left their personal belongings in the auxiliary gym while they went to another location. While the boy’s team was gone, the three suspects left the main gym, where they were watching the game, and entered the auxiliary gym.  The three suspects proceeded to search the gym bags of the boys’ basketball team that had been left unattended.  The suspects stole the following items:

  1. Black “808” wireless speaker ($120.00 value)
  2. Debit card
  3. $150.00 cash
  4. Black Mophie case with pop socket ($75.00 value)

The incident was captured on school surveillance cameras. School officials were able to positively identify one of the suspects, who is a 15 yr. old juvenile male.  Deputy Bush made contact with the juvenile suspect and recovered the black wireless speaker and returned the item to its owner.  Investigation is ongoing.

INCIDENT:     CDS Possession / Civil Citation / Juvenile Referral                    

DATE / TIME:     11/21/17 @ 09:18 PM    

LOCATION:     Fisher Manor Grasonville, MD    

ARREST:     15 yr. old B/M juvenile from Stevensville, MD   

DETAILS:     Deputies and MSP units responded to the area for a report of a disturbance. During investigation contact was made with a vehicle that was parked in the area.  Based on observations, a probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle.  Subsequently, less than 10 grams of marijuana was recovered. A 15 yr. old juvenile in the vehicle claimed ownership of the marijuana.  A juvenile referral was completed and the juvenile was released to family at the scene.
