INCIDENT:          Violation of Protective Order

DATE / TIME:     06/17/2014 @ 2242 Hours

LOCATION:         Shopping Center Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:              Lee Anne Fleming of Stevensville

ARREST:              James Linder (37) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            Assault / Reckless Endangerment / MDOP / Violation of Protective Order

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported as she and a friend were leaving a donut shop in Stevensville, her ex-husband attempted to run them off the road, attempting to sideway her vehicle and yelling he was going to harm her. Victim also advised she had an active protective order against Linder. Charges were filed and Mr. Linder was arrested on 6/18.

LOCATION:         Piney Narrows Road, Chester

VICTIM:              Chesapeake Heritage Center

 

NARRATIVE:       It was reported that a glass door at the Center had been shattered. Deputy Jones responded and met with an employee on the scene. Nothing was reported to be missing or out of place. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.

LOCATION:         800 Block of Dixon Drive, Stevensville

VICTIM:              Carol VanCleve of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported missing a jewelry box, assorted pieces of Sarah Covington Jewelry, a white gold ring with multiple diamonds and a yellow gold ring with ½ K diamond. The items are believed to have been taken sometime over the past three weeks. No forced entry was reported. The items had an estimated value of $11,000.

LOCATION:         200 Kent Landing, Stevensville

VICTIM:              K-Mart

ARREST:              Brittany Lynn Barrett (23) of Grasonville

CHARGE:            Theft

 

NARRATIVE:       Store Security reported observing a female, later identified as Brittany Barrett placing and concealing several fragrance items in her purse. She walked past all points of sale and was stopped outside the store, where she admitted to taking the items.

 

Among the items recovered were shampoo, lotions, perfume, deodorant and eye drops valued at $125.

 

Barrett was placed under arrest and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters. She was later released after posting bail.

DATE / TIME:     06/20/2014 @ 2259 Hours

LOCATION:         117 Yacht Club Drive, Chester

VICTIM:              Gary Stanecki of Jersey City, New Jersey

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies called to the Yacht Club for an intoxicated male who had been assaulted. On arrival, Gary Stanecki in the dining hall with a bloody nose and jaw. The victim was intoxicated and advised that a couple of males from a boat team from Baltimore had assaulted him. Contact was made with the team members and  one suspect, also very intoxicated stated he was drinking with the victim when he was struck in the face. When the two began to fight, several others members of the team jumped in. Stanecki went to Anne Arundel Medical center to be checked out and was reportedly had suffered no serious injury. Both parties were advised how to seek charges and none have been received to date.

NARRATIVE:       Store manager arrived for work and found that the business had been entered with petty cash taken. Minimal damage occurred to the business.

INCIDENT:          Warrant Service / Resisting Arrest

DATE / TIME:     06/21/2014 @ 1139 Hours

LOCATION:         1500 Block of Love Point Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:              Dfc. Charles Harris

ARREST:              Richard Rexford Reinheimer (50) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            Assault / Resisting Arrest / Failure to obey lawful Order / Body Attachment

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to the residence to serve a body attachment issued for Richard Reinheimer who met the deputies outside his residence. When advised he was being placed under arrest, Mr. Reinheimer began to walk away and go inside his home. As he began to enter the house he was detained but attempted to close the door on one of the deputies foot and leg. Once inside, he continued to resist and refusing to be placed in custody.

 

Additional units were requested and responded including Sheriff Hofmann who was able to calm the subject down and placed him under arrest. At the Commissioner’s Office he refused to cooperate and was held at the detention center. Dfc. Harris was not injured.

VICTIM:              Jeffrey N. Hutson of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported that his Briggs & Stratton snow blower, Ryobi leaf blower and a Poulan 14 inch chain saw had been stolen from his unlocked shed. The last time the items were seen was February of this year. Items had a value of $418.

INCIDENT:          Strong Arm Robbery

DATE / TIME:     06/21/2014 @ 2233 Hours

LOCATION:         Dominion Road, Chester

VICTIM:              Danny D. Escobar of Chester

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported walking on Dominion Road when stopped by three African-American males. One of the males then demanded the victim’s money and the victim gave him about $60. The suspects then ran from the victim without harming him.

 

The case has been assigned to Detective Armington of the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

DATE / TIME:     06/22/2014 @ 1425 Hours

LOCATION:         431 A Outlet Center Drive, Queenstown

VICTIM:              Sunglass Hut

ARREST:              Pending

 

NARRATIVE:       Store Manager reported several females had been in the store and one of the white females had taken a pair of white Oakley Fast Jacket sunglasses valued at $220 and then left the store. The group had then left the shopping center. A second Deputy located the suspect vehicle on RT 404 and stopped and identified the subjects. A search of the vehicle failed to locate the sunglasses and the subjects were released.

 

Upon reviewing the store’s video, one of the females could be seen trying on the sunglasses and placing a pair down her shirt and leaving the store. Deputy Neall has filed an Application of Charges for the woman.

TRAFFIC

 

14-20434            On 6/23 @ 0051 hours Deputy Parks stopped a vehicle on RT 302 near Dell Foxx Road, Sudlersville for a minor traffic offense. The driver was identified as Stephen Dwyer Treanor (29) of Gaithersburg and had a n odor of Alcohol. Additional interview and Field Sobriety Tasks were done with Treanor being placed under arrest for DWI. In addition to the DWI charge, he was also cited for failure to dim headlights and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. After processing, he was released on his signature.

DATE / TIME:     06/06/2014 @ 2026 Hours

LOCATION:         Kent Town Market, Chester

VICTIM:              Richard E. Horton of Bowie, MD

ARREST:              Jodie Nichole White-Smith (41) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            1st Degree Assault – 2nd Degree Assault

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies called to location for a report of a male & female arguing. A witness reported seeing a female driving a black SUV accelerate and turn towards a male standing in front of a white Dodge pickup. The male was able to move and avoid being struck while the SUV struck and damaged the Dodge pickup. The female then left the area.

 

Investigation indicated that the two had been arguing at her residence and she had thrown his belongings out of the house. Attempts to contact the female were negative.

 

After a case review with the States Attorney’s Office, an Arrest Warrant was issued for Ms. White-Smith. On 6/16 she was arrested without incident at her residence. After processing she was held on a $20,000 bail amount.

DATE / TIME:     6/7/2014 @ 1725 Hours

LOCATION:         Queenstown Outlets

VICTIM:              Gucci

ARREST:              Juvenile (17) from Kent Co., MD

Juvenile (16) from Kent Co., MD

CHARGE:            Theft

 

NARRATIVE:       Reported thefts being committed by two males from the Gucci Store. Deputy responded and located a possible suspect vehicle and observed several store tags on the ground near the vehicle. The two suspects were located in another store and detained while further investigation was completed. Both denied stealing anything but it was noted that one was wearing a new Gucci green & tan belt while the other had a gray Polo shirt on with fold creases.

 

Store security video shows the two with a green & tan belt priced at $249 while near some jackets. An employee later located a security sensor in the pocket of one of the jackets. At Polo one of the suspects is shown wearing a red shirt on entry and leaving wearing a gray shirt.

 

Both subjects were taken into custody and the Gucci Belt and four Polo shirts valued at $180 were recovered. After processing the juveniles were referred to Juvenile Justice and released to parents / guardians.

LOCATION:         2739 Cox Neck Road, Chester

 

NARRATIVE:       A juvenile was at a carnival when another juvenile asked to use the victims phone. When denied, the suspect juvenile struck the victim in the head and took the $670 Apple I-Phone. The victim refused medical attention and was transported to a family members residence. The case remains open and under investigation at this time.

LOCATION:         Mowbray Park, Stevensville

 

CHARGED:          (4) Kent Island Juveniles

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies responded to Mowbray Park for a report of someone breaking bottles there. On arrival deputies checked a passenger car there and found four juveniles from Kent Island in possession of vodka, wine and a flask. All were issued citations and later released to parents / guardians.

LOCATION:         500 Block of Chester River Beach Road, Chester

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported that two oyster shucking pans that were sitting behind his garage were now missing. The pans were valued at $300 each.

VICTIM:              Randolph S. Taylor of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       It was reported that numerous items were found to be missing from the residence after a couple of family members began to stay at the residence. Among the items missing were several grinders, a chain saw, an X-Box 360 and other tools with an estimated value of $2000.

 

The victim also learned that the items had been pawned at a location in Annapolis. Dfc. Burns placed a hold on all items and investigation remains open at this time.

LOCATION:         Kentmoor Road, Stevensville

VICTIM:              Winney Gochar of Catonsville, MD

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported being at the location for a dinner and afterwards went on the beach for pictures. While taking pictures, she advised she had placed her Apple I-Pad on a towel and forgot it until much later. The restaurant staff was contacted and attempted to locate it without success. The I-pad was valued at $400.

LOCATION:         200 Block of Allegany Road, Stevensville

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported the theft of scrap air conditioner units from his driveway. The items were last seen around 1800 hours the evening before and were valued at $100 scrap.

DATE / TIME:     Reported 6/11/2014 @ 1427 Hours

LOCATION:         Edward Kila Court, Stevensville

VICTIM:              Ross Dale of Potomac MD

 

NARRATIVE:       A Real Estate agent checking the residence discovered a large amount of damage to the house and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Numerous Italian planters had been smashed, glass doors and windows shattered, chandeliers damaged and a bench broken and thrown in the water. Damages were estimated at nearly $20,000.

 

Investigation indicated that the damage was likely to have occurred sometime between June 7th and the 11th. Investigation remains open.

TRAFFIC

 

Case 14-18671:                On June 8th at 0335 hours, Benjamin Edward Heck (21) of Centreville was charged with DWI after Deputy Fleck stopped a silver Ford Escort for erratic driving on RT 213.  After citations were issued, Mr. Heck was released to a parent.
