INCIDENT: THEFT

LOCATION: Queen Mary Court, Chester, MD.
DETAILS: Victim reported the theft of her son’s black & yellow Mongoose Big Wheel bicycle from her rear porch. The bike valued at $300 was last seen the evening before.

DATE / TIME: 12/03/2015 @ 2214 Hours
LOCATION: RT 18 @ Station Lane, Grasonville
DETAILS: Dfc. Andrew Neal stopped a white Honda for speeding. While speaking with the driver, Timothy Michael Ricca (29) of Grasonville, an odor of alcolic beverage was noted. Following Mr. Ricca stating he had had a few drinks earlier, several field sobriety tasks were attempted. Based on observations and additional indicators Mr. Ricca was placed under arrest for DWI. After citations were issued, he was released at the scene to a sober family member.

INCIDENT: Assault
DATE / TIME: 12/04/2015 @ 1605 Hours
LOCATION: 101 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: Following a 911 call at the Kure Pain Management, deputies responded to the location and advised that a male patient had become angry after told that he was no longer being prescribed his current medication. When asked to leave he attempted to punch the female physician in the facial area. The doctor was able to step back to avoid being struck. At that time the suspect left in a silver Ford Flex.
Two witnesses were intervied and both stated the patient was loud, angry and had swung his fist at the doctor.
Billy H. Holmes (45) of Seaford DE was charged with second degree assault and arrested on 12/15. He was later released by a District Court Commissioner on his own recognizance.

INCIDENT: CDS Possession
DATE / TIME: 12/05/2015 @ 0132 Hours
LOCATION: Newtown Road @ RT 552 (Dominion Road), Chester, MD
DETAILS: Deputy on patrol saw a truck stopped on Newtown Road with the interior light on. The deputy made a u-turn and went back to check on the occupant. While walking up to the vehicle it was observed that the brake lights were on. At the driver’s window it was obvious that the driver was asleep / passed out and the vehicle in drive. Upon waking the driver, later identified as Derek Anthony Spiegel (27) of Stevensville he was able to put the transmission into park.
It was observed that there was an open prescription pill bottle with a powder residue in the driver’s seat. A further search resulted in locating a second pill bottle with suspected amphetamine, vyvanse and suboxone pieces. Mr. Spiegel was unable to verify he had a prescription for any of the meds. A smoking device was also located on his person. Derek Spiegel was placed under arrest and held on a temporary committment due to his condition.

LOCATION: 100 Block of Goldfinch Land, Centreville
DETAILS: The theft of several Christmas light devices was reported. Two were Star Shooter laser lights valued at $40. each and a an LED light show projector valued at $10.

INCIDENT: Theft from Motor Vehicle
DATE / TIME: 12/06/2015 @ 1415 Hours (Reported)
LOCATION: Terrapin Park, 191 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville
DETAILS: Victims advised arriving at the park at 1230 hours in a Ford F-150 pickup. The female victim placed her black Nine West purse in the floor of the passenger siide. Upon returning to the truck, they found the passenger window broken and the purse missing.
The purse contained several credit and debit cards, keys, ID and a wallet. Total loss was estimated at approximately $100 with an estimated $500-$600 damage to the truck.

LOCATION: Clabber Hill Road, Church Hill, MD
DETAILS: Following a report of a suspicious vehicle on Kennersley Farm Lane, a lowered pickup was observed parked on the side of Clabber Hill Road near South East Creek Road. David William Martin (21) of Centreville was identified as the driver by his MD Driver’s License. While talking with Martin a stronge odor of alcohol was noticied. Several field sobriety tasks were attempted and Martin was placed under arrest for DWI. He was later released at the location to a sober individual.

INCIDENT: Theft / MDOP
DATE / TIME: 12/08/2015 @ 1854 Hours (Reported)
LOCATION: 1100 Block of Peters Corner Road, Sudlersville
DETAILS: It was discovered that two air conditioning units and a propane tank at Holden’s Chapel Church had been damaged by someone stealing the copper wire. The theft occurred sometime between the evening of 12/7 and the afternoon of 12/8. Damage to the units was estimated at $15,000.
