Yesterday after six months of training at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy, three Deputy Sheriff recruits graduated at a commencement ceremony in Salisbury.

 

Deputy Savanna Dickey, Deputy Patrick R. Matteson and Deputy Lanard M. Pack received diplomas and new badges during the ceremony. Sheriff Gary Hofmann gave the graduation address.

 

The new deputies will be officially sworn in by the Clerk of Circuit Court Scott MacGlashan on Wednesday.

 

The QA Deputies were three of sixteen new police officers who graduated from the program that have been assigned to eight police agencies across the Eastern Shore.

 

The structured six-month training regimen and curriculum included constitutional law, traffic and criminal investigation, firearms, and the physical training as well as earning more than 20 college credits in the process.
