Investigation by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit into burglaries occurring in Queen Anne’s County has led to two arrests.
James Andrew Delph (19) of Centreville / Barclay has been charged in the July 2016 burglary and theft of two dirt bikes from a shed on Browning Lane, Centreville.
Charges include Burglary, 2 counts of Motor Vehicle unlawful taking, 2 Count of Theft, 2 counts of unauthorized removal of Property and MDOP.
Delph has also been charged in the November 2016 of theft of shotgun along with other hunting and sporting items from a pickup at a residence on White Marsh Road near Centreville. A Compound bow was also taken from an attached garage at that residence. A neighboring home on White Marsh Road was also burglarized with two additional shotguns taken from an attached garage.
In this incident, Delph was charged with 5 Counts of Burglary, two counts of MDOP, Theft and Theft Scheme.
Delph was arrested without incident on December 2nd at a family residence on Carroll Road, Centreville.
Corey James Freeman (19) of Kennedyville has been charged in the December 7th, 2016 burglary of a residence on Island Creek Road near Centreville. In that burglary, nearly $5000 of jewelry and cash was taken.
After several tips about suspects pawning items of jewelry matching the stolen items and assistance from Chestertown Police and Kent County Sheriff’s Office suspects were identified.
Kent County Sheriff’s Office advised they had made an arrest on a warrant for Kyle Freeman who was in possession of several jewelry items. A check of pawn records showed that Corey Freeman had pawned numerous items in Delaware matching the items taken in the burglary.
Corey Freeman was served an arrest warrant on 1/13 charging him with multiple counts of burglary, and theft.
On December 12, 2016 a burglary of a residence on Sudlersville Road was reported to the Sheriff’s Office. The victim stated that sometime during the day, someone had forced their way into the home and stolen her television.
While responding to the call, Kent County Sheriff’s Office called saying they had arrested Corey Freeman on one of their warrants and the Freeman had a television and a large jewelry cabinet in his possession.
When the deputy arrived, he asked the victim if she had a jewelry box, with her advising yes. When she went to check , she realized it was missing. Victim placed a value of the stolen items at approximately $4500.
Freeman was detained in Kent County Detention center on other charges. The Deputy requested an arrest warrant for Freeman charging him with several counts of burglary, theft and MDOP. The warrant was served on January 11th.
