Disciplinary Trial Boards

The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff conducts Disciplinary Trial Boards in accordance with Maryland Law. When an investigation finds that a deputy has engaged in misconduct by violating a law or Sheriff's Office rule, policy, or procedure, that deputy is subject to discipline. Pursuant to law, if an investigation results in a recommendation of demotion, dismissal, transfer, loss of pay, reassignment, or similar action that is considered punitive, the law enforcement officer may exercise their right to a trial board to contest the findings of an Internal Affairs Investigation.
