INCIDENT:           Fatal Collision

LOCATION:         Cox Neck Road @ Jones Road, Chester, MD.

VICTIMS:             Cory Passagno (18) of Chester                                   (Deceased)

                              Michael John Ringenbach (19) of Stevensville         (Deceased)

                              Harrison Rhodes Smith (18) of Chester                     (Deceased)

                              Tyler Elzey (18 or19) of Chester                                 (Deceased)

                              Eli Dabich Jr. (73) of Chester                                       Flown to Shock Trauma

NARRATIVE:        Emergency personnel responded to a report of a serious two vehicle crash on the 1700 block of Cox Neck Road in Chester. Residents in the area heard the crash and ran to assist, including two nurses. On arrival KIVFD personnel found a silver VW four door sedan with four occupants all deceased and a Ford Focus with a single occupant injured. One of the deceased subjects in the VW was recognized  by the fireman as one of their own, a KIVFD Member.

Eli Dabich, a professor at the Naval Academy was reported to be conscious was flown to Shock Trauma by MSP Aviation.

Cox Neck Road was closed for over 4 hours while the scene was being investigated and cleared. 

Preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Team indicates that the speed of the VW may be a factor.
