INCIDENT: Fraud / Forgery

LOCATION: 200 Block of Piney Point Landing, Grasonville, MD
VICTIM: 86 yr. old female from Grasonville, MD
DETAILS: Complainant advised that earlier in the day she had received a phone call from a male who claimed to be a public defender. This male stated that he was with their grandson who had just been arrested for his involvement in a motor vehicle accident. A court commissioner had given the grandson a $5,000 bond that would have to be paid in order to keep him from spending the night in jail. The alleged public defender explained to the complainant that she was to purchase five (5) $1,000 gift cards from Sam’s Club. Contact was made with the alleged public defender a short while later at which time he requested the account numbers and pin numbers from the cards. The complainant provided this information to the alleged public defender. The complainant made contact with her grandson later on in the day to make sure that he had made it home. It was then learned that the grandson had never been arrested or been involved in any accident. Deputy Jarrett advised of the appropriate steps to take in reference to making contact with their credit card company used to purchase the gift cards. Investigation is ongoing.

VICTIM: Atlantic Tractor
DETAILS: Deputies responded to the Atlantic Tractor in Queen Anne for a report of theft. An employee reported that on or about 10/31/17 a 2017 John Deere, Zero Turn Z950M was stolen from the front of the business. The property is valued at $11,514. The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information on this incident, please contact the Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County.

INCIDENT: Theft: Over $1,000, under $10,000

LOCATION: 6200 Blk of Sudlersville Rd in Sudlersville
VICTIM: 68 yo male of Sudlersville
DETAILS: Deputies responded to an address in the 6200 block of Sudlersville Road for a report of a theft. The victim reported on or about 11/28/17 an unknown suspect(s) had stolen an ATV identified as a red colored Polaris Scrambler 50. It was stolen from the front of his barn. The victim reported that the rear wheels are locked, but the engine works. The property is valued at $2000. If anyone has information on the location of the ATV, please contact the Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County.

INCIDENT: CDS Possession of Marijuana
DATE / TIME: 12-1-2017/ 2303 Hours
LOCATION: Rt. 18 and Shopping Center RD Chester, Queen Anne’s County, Maryland
ARRESTED: Ryan Patrick Mccord, 20 year old white male of Chester, Queen Anne’s County, MD
Detail: On 12-1-2017 at approximately 11:03pm, DFC. Cooper observed a blue VW passenger vehicle driving on Rt. 18 with a headlight out. Dfc. Cooper conducted a traffic stop on the above vehicle for the violation. Dfc. Cooper made contact with the occupant of the vehicle. He detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputy Cooper requested a backup unit to assist. Deputy Dickey arrived on scene to assist. The occupant of the vehicle was asked to step out so that a search of the vehicle could be conducted. The occupant stepped out of the vehicle and advised DFC. Cooper that he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket. The marijuana was seized and later weighed to determine the amount of marijuana which was approximately 32 grams. The occupant was identified as Ryan Mccord. He was placed under arrest for the possession of marijuana in the amount greater than 10 grams. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was processed and later released.

INCIDENT CDS Possession of Marijuana
DATE /TIME 12-2-2017 / 0004 Hours
LOCATION: McDonalds parking lot located in Chester MD
ARRESTED: Curtis Wayne Brown, 23 black male of Queen Anne, Queen Anne’s County, MD
DETAILS: On 12-2-2017 at approximately 12:04am, Deputy Dickey was conducting a patrol check of the McDonalds located in Chester MD. She observed a black Dodge Charger parked in the back lot in the complete dark. Deputy Dickey observed a male subject sitting in the vehicle. She approached and identified the occupant as Curtis Wayne Brown. Mr. Brown stated he was waiting on his brother to finish closing the store. Deputy Dickey detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When Brown was asked if he had any marijuana in the vehicle he stated he had three separate bags. A search of the vehicle was conducted and three bags of marijuana were located along with a scale and two smoking devices. The approximant amount of marijuana seized was 52 grams. Brown was placed under arrest and charged with the possession of marijuana in the amount greater than 10 grams. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released.

INCIDENT: Theft from Calvin Klein, Queenstown Outlets
DATE AND TIME REPORTED: November 29, 2017 at 1:36pm
LOCATION: Queenstown Premium Outlets
VICTIM: Calvin Klein Clothing Store
SUSPECT: John Dierking , 20 year old white male , Chestertown , MD
NARRATIVE: On the above date and time, Cpl. M. Bassaro responded to the Calvin Klein Clothing Store, Queenstown Outlets in reference to a shoplifting complaint in progress. The manager of the store called stating an employee observed a white male stealing clothing valued at $30. The store employees confronted the male and detained him until law enforcement arrived. The male was identified as John Dierking . During the investigation Cpl. Bassaro worked with store employees to ensure all evidence was seized and statements were obtained. Investigation continues and charges are pending.

INCIDENT: Traffic Stop/CDS civil citation

LOCATION: Dominion Rd and Main St, Chester, Md. 21619
SUSPECT: Lena Desales Underwood, 19 year old white female, Stevensville, MD
DETAIL: Dfc. Prince had observed a Black in color, 2 door Honda Civic with an obstructed rear window and dark tint. He made a traffic stop of that vehicle and made contact with the driver, Lena Desales Underwood. Upon contacting the driver, Dfc. Prince noticed a strong odor of marijuana. As a result, a search was conducted of the vehicle and less than 10grams of marijuana was located. Underwood was given a civil citation for Possession of Marijuana (less than 10grams), a traffic warning for the obstructed window, and a safety and equipment repair order for the window tint.

INCIDENT: CDS Possession

LOCATION: 600 Block of Love Point Road, Stevensville, MD
ARRESTED: Lamont Kearse (31 yr. old black male, Chester, MD)
DETAILS: Deputies and State Troopers responded to the area for a medical emergency. While deputies were giving aide to the victim a Trooper stood by with a witness to the incident, identified as Lamont Kearse. Mr. Kearse was described as being nervous during this time. At one point a pill bottle was observed to be in Mr. Kearse’s possession. After failing to follow commands given to him by law enforcement, Mr. Kearse was taken into custody. Mr. Kearse was found to be in possession of several suspected narcotics, to include but not limited to suspected cocaine. Ultimately, Mr. Kearse was arrested and charged on several counts including the following:
• CDS Possession – Not Marijuana
• CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute
• Obstructing & Hindering
• Disorderly Conduct
• Resisting Arrest
• Fail to Obey Reasonable / Lawful Order
Mr. Kearse was subsequently held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center pending his bail review.
