INCIDENT: Possession of CDS –Not Marijuana

LOCATION: Sudlersville Elementary School @300 South Church Street Sudlersville,
NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to the Sudlersville Elementary School in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with school officials who asked police to have a male removed from the property. Further investigation led to the recovery of suspected Crack Cocaine and drug paraphernalia from a vehicle driven by the unwanted person. During the investigation, witnesses informed deputies of a female passenger who was in the same vehicle. That female returned to the scene and was placed under arrest for the recovered illegal drugs. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for booking and processing. She was later taken to the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center where she was held without bail. Deputies were unable to locate the male after the CDS was located. Charges were completed on the male suspect identified as Chris Markow.

INCIDENT: Fleeing and Eluding, Suspended Driver

LOCATION: Dominion Road @ Main Street in Chester, MD 21619
NARRATIVE: The 911 Center had received calls in reference to a passed out driving in the travel portion of Main Street. Major Boardman with the Office of the Sheriff was patrolling in the area of Dominion Road and Main Street in Chester, MD. During this time he observed a male, who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel. Major Boardman made contact with the male who woke up and immediately attempted to flee the area. A brief pursuit occurred and the driver eventually pulled over in the area of Cox Neck Road at Postal Road. The driver was taken into custody and gave deputies a false name. The driver was later identified as Dantae Dennis. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was issued several citations for traffic violations. In addition, it was determined that Mr. Dennis had an active arrest warrant. He was later transported to the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center where he was held without bail. “I would like to thank the owner of the Pawn Shop for assisting at the scene with traffic direction around the vehicle that was blocking traffic. This type of initiative shows the supportive relationship we have with the community of Queen Anne’s County and my staff.” said Sheriff Hofmann.
