INCIDENT: Malicious Destruction of Property

LOCATION: 7400 Blk of Church Hill Road, Chestertown, MD
VICTIM: A male of Chestertown, MD
DETAILS: Cpl. Bassaro responded to CJS Automotive in Chestertown for a report regarding damaged property. Upon her arrival, Cpl. Bassaro spoke with the victim. The victim explained that sometime in the past day, an unknown suspect damaged two of the vehicles located at the place of business. The unknown suspect slashed the tires on both vehicles. The estimated damage value is greater than $500. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff at 410-758-0770.

INCIDENT: Burglary
DATE/TIME: 06/22/18 at 7:44 AM
LOCATION: 400 Blk of Bay Drive, Stevensville, MD
VICTIM: A male of Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Bush responded to the above address for a report of a past burglary. Upon his arrival, Deputy Bush met with the victim in regards to the incident. The victim advised Deputy Bush that sometime on the afternoon of 6/21/18, an unknown suspect entered the garage of the residence. According to the victim, the suspect attempted to open a large safe by damaging the hinges. The suspect was not able to gain entry into the safe and left the residence without taking anything. INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 100 Blk of Massey Ave, Church Hill, MD
VICTIM: A male of Church Hill, MD
DETAILS: Cpl. Bassaro responded to the above address in reference to a past burglary. The victim reported that sometime in the recent past cabinets and appliances were taken from the residence. The total estimated value of the items is $7,000- $8,000. This case remains open, anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff at 410-758-0770.

INCIDENT: Theft Investigation/ Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute
DATE/ TIME: 06/22/18 approximately at 4:55 PM
LOCATION: 200 Block of New Street in Church Hill, MD
VICTIM: A male of Church Hill, MD
ARRESTED Calvin Hill, 23yr old male of Church Hill, MD
DETAILS: Cpl. Bassaro responded to 100 Blk of Walnut Street in Church Hill regarding a report of a theft. The victim advised Cpl. Bassaro that an individual named Calvin Hill had stolen a hatchet from him. The victim also believed that Hill had taken other items in the past, which included a flat-screen TV. The victim advised that Hill came by his home earlier in the morning and an argument ensued. The victim stated that during the argument, Hill made a threat to shoot him. During Cpl. Bassaro’s discussion with the victim in regards to this threat, it was reported that the suspect had previously discharged a firearm in the victim’s home approximately a month ago. The victim also believed that Calvin Hill was in possession of a .38 caliber handgun. During Cpl. Bassaro’s continued investigation, she discovered that Hill was on supervised probation and was prohibited from having a firearm. Cpl. Bassaro contacted the Parole & Probation Division in reference to the information she had received. The Parole & Probation Division advised Cpl. Bassaro, they would do an immediate home inspection. Agents from the Parole & Probation Division, along with QAC Deputies, responded to Hill’s home on New Street in Church Hill. Upon arrival at the home, contact was made with Hill and a search of his room was conducted. A small amount of suspected CDS (controlled dangerous substance) was located in the suspect’s room. Upon finding the CDS, Calvin Hill was placed under arrest. While searching Hill prior to transport, deputies found a plastic bag containing 8 capsules of suspected heroin. The capsules were located in Hill’s undergarments. Hill was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and later held at the Detention Center.

INCIDENT: Theft
DATE/TIME: 6/22/2018 at 9:05PM
LOCATION: Safeway store, 1925 Main Street Chester, MD 21619
VICTIM: 22yo female of Chester, MD
DETAILS: Deputy. Prince responded to the victim’s home in reference to a past theft that took place at a Safeway store. Upon meeting with the victim, Deputy Prince learned that the victim had left her wallet at the Safeway store. The victim also noticed that a charge was made to one of her credit cards at a local gas station. The investigation is ongoing.
