PASSENGER: Desirae Hurley, 29yo female from Hurlock, Md & Katlyn Cosner, 24yo female from Hurlock, Md
DETAILS: While conducting traffic enforcement, Deputies observed a blue colored 1998 Dodge Pick-up driving over the speed limit. The Dodge Pick-up was driving 47mph in a 30mph zone. As a result, Deputy Patikowski conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as James Fisher. The two passengers in the vehicle were identified as Desirae Hurley and Katlyn Cosner. A check through the Motor Vehicle Administration was conducted to verify Fisher’s license. The check revealed that Fisher’s license was suspended. Deputies also discovered that Hurley had a warrant through Anne Arundel County for failing to appear in court. Deputy Patikowski used his partner, K-9 Drake, to conduct a scan of the vehicle. K-9 Drake was able to make a positive identification for a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS). As a result of that identification, a search was conducted on the vehicle. Incident to the search, deputies found a small amount of suspected Methamphetamine in the vehicle. The CDS was seized and placed into evidence, to be sent to the Maryland State Police crime lab for testing. Deputies gave Fisher a citation for driving on a suspended license and speeding. Hurley was taken into custody and later turned over to an Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Further charges are pending based upon results from the lab.
