PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT: Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS)
DATE/TIME: 07/06/18 at approximately 5:03 pm
LOCATION: Route 213 and Union Church Road, Chestertown, MD
ARRESTED: Joseph F. Parker III, 32yo male of Wilmington, DE
DETAILS: Corporal Martz responded to the area of Route 301 & Hall Road in reference to an unconscious male behind the wheel of a white GM Model SUV. Corporal Martz checked the area and did not find the subject. However, he continued to check the surrounding areas. While Corporal Martz was traveling North on Route 213, just North of Church Hill, he observed a white colored Chevy Tahoe driving erratically. Corporal Martz conducted a traffic stop on the Tahoe and identified the driver as Joseph Parker III. After further investigation, Corporal Martz conducted field sobriety tests on Parker to determine if Parker was impaired. Based upon the results of the test, Parker was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. The vehicle was also searched. Incident to the search, Corporal Martz found several syringes and a small amount of Marijuana, which Parker was also charged with. Parker was transported to the Office of the Sheriff for processing and later to the District Court Commissioner. After processing, Parker was transported to the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center.

INCIDENT: Burglary
DATE/TIME: 07/08/18 at approximately 6:32 pm
LOCATION: 100 Block of Red Lion Branch Road, Millington, MD
VICTIM: Male from Millington, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Iman responded to the above address in reference to a past burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim. The victim advised that on 7/6/18 he noticed that his change jar was missing. The victim stated that he believed a suspect may have entered through an unlocked door since he did not observe any other area of entry at the residence. This investigation is ongoing.
