INCIDENT: Theft from Vehicle
DATE/ TIME: 01/09/2015 – 1338 hours (Reported)
LOCATION: 4802 Main Street, Grasonville
NARRATIVE: Charolette D’Camera reported someone had taken her purse and scarf from her vehicle while parked at the Grasonville Senior Center. The purse contained her cell phone and $40 currency. The total loss was estimated at $150. No damage was observed to the vehicle.

LOCATION: 216 St. Claire Place, Stevensville
NARRATIVE: The office manager at Big Bats reported that two subjects had been at the restaurant having lunch on December 27th and then left without paying their bill of $87.00. The subjects were known to several of the staff members and contacted thru Facebook and private messages. One subject returned and paid for his meal, however the second individual has been repeated contacted and has failed to return to pay. Deputy Neall took the information and filed for an application of charges for the second subject.

LOCATION: Safeway, Kent Town Market, Chester
NARRATIVE: Victim Mary Wicker of Grasonville reported that when she went to checkout at Safeway store she discovered her wallet missing. The wallet contained her ID, Checkbook, and bank cards. While looking at calendars in the store, she recalled an African American male had stopped and spoken with her for several moments. At the time she wasn’t suspicious but she had left her purse was in the shopping cart.
Upon returning home, she was contacted by her bank concerning a $1272 charge at Macy’s in Annapolis and then contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

LOCATION: 5900 Block of Sudlersville Road, Sudlersville
NARRATIVE: Michael & Michelle Timms reported the theft of cash and change from a lock box at their home. The box appeared to have been forced open. The damage to the lock box and missing cash was estimated at $550 loss. The evidence of forced entry to the home was evident.

INCIDENT: Handgun Violation
DATE/ TIME: 01/13/2015 @ 0246 Hours
LOCATION: RT 50 E/B at Kent Narrows, Chester
NARRATIVE: Deputy Martz stopped a silver Ford Fusion for speeding on Route 50 near Kent Narrows. After contacting the driver, identified as Jelani Colas of Laurel, an odor of burnt marijuana was noticed. A search of the car failed to locate any marijuana but a loaded Ruger .40 caliber handgun was seized from under the seat. Colas was placed under arrest for having the loaded handgun in the vehicle. A District Court Commissioner held Colas until a $10,000 bond was posted.

INCIDENT: Medical Emergency / Warrant Service
DATE/ TIME: 01/13/2015 @ 1518 Hours
LOCATION: Hayden Road, Centreville
NARRATIVE: Deputy was dispatched to check on the welfare of a 29 year old female at the location. After locating the woman it was discovered that she had an active Arrest Warrant for Violation of probation on file. She was checked at a hospital, later released and placed under arrest. A District Court Commissioner later released the woman on her own recognizance.

DATE/ TIME: 01/14/2015 @ 1212 Hours (Reported)
LOCATION: Queen Anne Way, Chester
NARRATIVE: Sharon Barbera of Chester reported the theft of prescription sunglasses and change from her Hyundai parked at her residence. Victim reported hearing a car alarm about 2330 hours and looked outside but didn’t see anyone and her vehicle appeared to be OK. The glasses and change were estimated to have a value of $400. No damage was observed to her vehicle.

LOCATION: 400 Block of Broad Street, Crumpton
NARRATIVE: Alan Byerly of Crumpton reported the theft of a 16 foot 10 inch high steel I-Beam from his yard. The theft occurred sometime between December 28th and January 5th and would have required more than one person to remove the beam, which was valued at $200.

LOCATION: 1400 Block of Roberts Station Road, Church Hill
NARRATIVE: Michael Costabile of Roberts Station Road reported sometime between January 1st and January 15th someone had stolen a set of 4 Pirelli tires on Giovanni rims from an open shed at his residence. The items had an estimated value of $1800.
