INCIDENT: Theft & Burglary

LOCATION: 2800 Block of Cox Neck Road, Chester
NARRATIVE: Victim reported that she had discovered her bank card missing from her wallet along with an iPod Touch, a Kindle and a Kindle Fire from her residence. The victim also discovered a series of withdrawals from the bank account. It was also reported that a family member had admitted to breaking into the home. The loss was estimated at $2,000.

INCIDENT: Theft / Burglary

LOCATION: 100 Block of Jackson Creek, Grasonville, MD
NARRATIVE: David Gill reported being away from his residence for a couple days and upon returning home found the residence in disarray with several work items, a change jar and several cordless drills missing. The work items included a Taser, baton pepper spray and a fugitive recovery badge. The items were valued at $1300. Case remains under investigation.

INCIDENT: Burglary
DATE / TIME: 03/13/2015 @ 0906 Hours
LOCATION: 1521 Postal Road, Chester, MD
NARRATIVE: An employee arrived at the Sears Store and saw thru the window that numerous items were in disarray and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Upon entry no one was located in the store however the entire showroom was a mess. A stove and several BBQ grills were pushed over and boxes of items were scattered about. Many of the items were damaged and at this time no dollar amount has been determined of damages or items missing.

UPDATE
In each of the above cases, a single possible suspect was developed. On March 15th deputies responded to the Holiday Inn in Grasonville for a domestic in progress. Prior to announcing their presence, deputies heard loud talking and the sound of an electronic control device (Commonly known as a Taser)
The deputies found a female and male in the hotel room. The male, who was the suspect of the crimes was confronted and advised the ECD (Taser) was located under the desk. The device was identical to the device reported missing from Case 15-06667.
After further interview of the suspect and a search warrant of his vehicle, Chase Andrew Martell (19) of Fort Mill, SC was arrested on numerous charges: Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 4th degree, 11 counts of theft, Theft Scheme and Identity theft. He was held on a $125,000 bail and currently is detained at the QA Detention Center.
