INCIDENT: Motor Vehicle Hit and Run

LOCATION: Dollar General @ 1213 Shopping Center Road Chester, MD
INVOLVED VEHICLE ONE: 2018 Nissan Rogue, MD tag T472523
DRIVER OF VEHICLE ONE: Heather Ramey (26 yr. old female from Crofton, MD)
INVOLVED VEHICLE TWO: 2019 Honda Accord, MD tag 1CZ6554
DRIVER OF VEHICLE TWO: Michael Baynard (54 yr. old male from Chester, MD)
DETAILS: Vehicle one attempted to back out of a parking space in the parking lot of 1235 Shopping Center Road. The driver of vehicle one failed to give full time and attention and failed to yield to the right of way of vehicle two. Vehicle one backed into vehicle two causing superficial damage. The driver of vehicle one failed to remain on scene and failed to provide the driver of vehicle two with any information. The driver of vehicle one exited her vehicle and entered another vehicle and fled the scene. Citations/charges are pending.

INCIDENT: Driving under the Influence of Alcohol
DATE / TIME: 03/09/18 @ 12:24 AM
LOCATION: Route 8 @ Touhey Drive, Stevensville, MD
ARRESTED: Mark Fromert (26 yr. old male from Stevensville, MD)
INVOLVED VEHICLE: 2007 Toyota Tacoma, MD tag 3BT1746
DETAILS: Deputy Pack conducted a traffic stop on the above-referenced vehicle for a speeding violation. During his interaction with the driver, Deputy Pack learned that the driver had consumed alcohol in the recent past. In order to determine that the driver was safe to continue driving, Deputy Pack conducted several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The driver was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. After the completion of all associated paperwork, the driver was issued appropriate citations and was released to a sober driver at the scene.

INCIDENT: CDS not Marijuana
DATE / TIME: 03/12/2018 approximately 3:50AM
LOCATION: 100 block of Recovery Dr., Centreville MD
SUSPECT: Wayne Allen Miles, 35yo male of Grasonville
DETAILS: Deputies were flagged down by a concerned citizen in reference to a vehicle being parked on Recovery Dr. and individuals walking down that same road. The suspect vehicle was located in the 100 Block of Recovery Dr., Centreville MD. A male was inside the vehicle that was known by Deputies as Wayne Allen Miles. A warrant check was completed and the results indicated that Mr. Miles had an active arrest warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle in the direct area where Miles was located resulted in locating a spoon with suspected CDS residue. The controlled Dangerous substance was believed to be suspected Heroin and will be sent off to the Maryland State Police lab for further testing. Mr. Miles was held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center on the arrest warrant. He was held on $75,000.00 bond. Controlled Dangerous Substance charges are pending lab results.

INCIDENT: CDS not Marijuana plus Marijuana less than 10g
DATE / TIME: 03/11/2018 approximately 9:10pm
LOCATION: Rt. 544 at Rt. 290, Crumpton MD
SUSPECT: Vontiva LeSha Hynson, 29yo female of Chestertown
Janay Lativia Demvy, 28yo female of Chestertown, Kent CO.
DETAILS: Deputies were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Rt. 544 and Rt. 290, Crumpton MD. Deputies witnessed a Maroon in color, 2001 Buick, passenger vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. Contact was made with the driver, who was identified as Vontiva LeSha Hynson. While speaking with Hynson, Deputies smelled a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Hyson admitted to having Marijuana in the vehicle and told the Deputies of its location.
A passenger in the vehicle was asked to step out so a Probable Cause search could be completed. That passenger was identified as Janay Lativia Demvy. Demvy requested her jacket which was searched prior to handing over to Demvy. During that search, 1 empty clear capsule containing suspected heroin was located inside of her jacket. Demvy was informed that the capsule will be sent off to the Maryland State Police lab and charges are pending the results.
The search of the vehicle resulted with locating Marijuana. Hynson was cited on a civil citation for the Marijuana less than 10g and issued a Warning for failure to stop at a stop sign. Charges for Demvy are pending lab results.

INCIDENT: Theft under $1,000.00

LOCATION: Queen Mary CT Chester MD 21619
VICTIM: Male, Grasonville MD.
DETAILS: On 3-11-2018, Deputies responded to 30 D Queen Mary Ct., Chester MD for a past theft. Deputies Spoke to the victim who stated he arrived at the Queen Mary Ct. early in the morning of March 11, 2018. The victim went inside and went to sleep. He woke up around 10:30 am and went to his car to retrieve his phone. He noticed that his center console was open and things were moved around. He then realized that his iPhone 6S was stolen. The victim stated that his vehicle was left unlocked and estimated the value of the phone to be $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County.

LOCATION: Woods RD Chestertown MD 21620
Charged: Sara Lynn Jordan, 08/15/96 – 804 Hall Road, Sudlersville MD, 21668
DETAILS: On March 11, 2018, DFC. Cooper was conducting a patrol check of Woods Rd located in Chestertown MD 21620. Dfc. Cooper observed a silver passenger vehicle at the end of Woods Rd which is a dead end. The vehicle travel passed him and he observed a traffic violation. Dfc. Cooper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver who he identified as Sara Lynn Jordan. A strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and back up units were called to the scene. A search of the vehicle was conducted and marijuana in the amount of less than 10 grams was located. As the search continued numerous syringes and suspected heroin was located. Jordan was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. She was seen by a commissioner where she was later released.

INCIDENT: Traffic Stop/CDS violation – Marijuana less than 10 grams

LOCATION: Rt. 19@ Crane Swamp Rd., Centreville, Md. 21617
DETAIL: While Dep. Patikowski was conducting a traffic enforcement detail he observed and stopped a driver operating a vehicle for exceeding the posted speed limit. The vehicle was a Gold 1999 Mercury 4 door with Delaware tags. The deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, (Harold Parady Jr. 29yo). After obtaining his license/registration, Parady advised that he had some marijuana in his pocket. Dep. Patikowski had him step out of the vehicle and conducted a search. As a result of the search, a small amount of marijuana was located. A search of the vehicle was also conducted, but no contraband was found. Parady was issued a civil citation for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.

INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams
DATE / TIME: 3/10/2018 @ 3:33PM
DETAILS: While on patrol, Dep. Dickey observed a silver Toyota Camry traveling on Rt. 50 in the area of Hess Road and the operator was not restrained by his seatbelt. Dep. Dickey performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon interaction with the driver, detected the odor of marijuana. Cpl. Martz and K-9 Spike, also responded. A search of the vehicle revealed smoking devices and a small amount of marijuana. The driver was released on the scene on a civil citation charging him with the marijuana possession under 10 grams.

INCIDENT: Theft from Motor Vehicle

VICTIM: 37yo female from Pasadena, MD
DETAILS: Deputies responded to a theft in the area of Rt. 18 and Castle Marina Road. The victim reported that while she was running on the trail, her window was smashed out of her vehicle and her purse containing $80.00, credit cards, and other personal items were taken.

DETAILS: Dep. Dickey was dispatched to the Anne Arundel Medical Center Health Services building located at 1630 Main Street Chester, MD in reference to found property. Upon arrival Dep. Dickey made contact with the complainant who advised she found a money clip with money in it. If you believe it could belong to you, contact the Sheriff’s Office with a description of the money clip along with the approximate amount of cash it contained.

INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams

LOCATION: Parking lot of Annie’s 500 Kent Narrows Way North Grasonville
ARRESTED: Shaniya Frieson 18yo female from Denton, Md
DETAILS: Sheriff Hofmann received information about a wanted subject that was expected to be in the parking lot of Annie’s restaurant. Sheriff Hofmann identified the vehicle and the wanted person inside the vehicle. The wanted person was in the front passenger seat and taken into custody on the warrant. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies could detect the odor of marijuana. It was discovered that the rear passenger, Shaniya Frieson had a small baggie containing marijuana in her pocket. She was released on a civil citation.

LOCATION: Matapeake Middle School 671 Romancoke Road Stevensville, MD
VICTIM: 15yo male from Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: The victim reported to Dep. Dickey that his Samsung Galaxy cell phone was stolen from the men’s room located at Matapeake Middle School on today’s date. The School Resource Officer was notified and an investigation is being conducted.
