INCIDENT:          Fireworks

DATE / TIME:     07/06/2013 @ 2129 Hours

LOCATION:         400 Block of Watson Road, Centreville

 

ARREST:              Pending

 

NARRATIVE:       Sgt. Johnston was patrolling near Centreville when he observed several large displays of fireworks. He proceeded to the Watson Road area and as driving thru, another large fireworks went off. Sgt. Johnston went behind the residence and located two males with several motor launch tubes and spent and unfired fireworks. The items were seized with the Fire Marshall being contacted. Charges are pending.

INCIDENT:          Possession of CDS

DATE / TIME:     07/06/2013 @ 2333 Hours

LOCATION:         Double Creek Road, Chestertown, QA County

 

ARREST:              Emanuel Christopher Zeigler (23) of Halethorpe, MD

Katie Lynn Colvin (23) of Halethorpe, MD

CHARGE:            Possession of CDS (Marijuana)

 

NARRATIVE:       A Chevrolet pickup was seen running a stop sign at the intersection of Double Creek Road and Shoveler Street. The truck was stopped and an odor of marijuana was present. The driver, Emanuel Zeigler advised his wallet with his driver’s license was on his boat and there was a grinder in the truck as they were smoking “weed” earlier.

Ziegler and his passenger, Katie Colvin were asked to step from the truck. When a search was begun of the truck for the grinder, Colvin reached under her dress and retrieved a grinder from her crotch area. Further search of the truck resulted in the seizure of a baggie with suspected marijuana.

 

Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. Ms. Colvin was searched by a female deputy which resulted in the seizure of a suspected marijuana cigarette from her crotch area. Both subjects were charged with possession of CDS and Ms. Colvin also was charged with paraphernalia possession.

 

A District Court Commissioner later released both of them on their personal recognizance.

DATE / TIME:     07/07/2013 @ 0135 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 213 Church Hill

 

ARREST:              Matthew Alan Mink (24) of Long Beach, Mississippi

CHARGE:            DWI

 

NARRATIVE:       A beige 4 door KIA was stopped for a minor traffic infraction. Contact with the driver identified him as Matthew Mink. There was a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the interior of the car along with several other indicators of a possible impaired driver. Attempts were made to complete field sobriety tasks and Mink was then placed under arrest for DWI. Both Mink and his passenger were transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters so that Mink could be processed. He was later released to the passenger’s sober son.

LOCATION:         441 Outlet Center Drive, Queenstown

VICTIM:              Sunglass Hut

 

NARRATIVE:       Employees at the Sunglass Hut reported that a couple had been in the store, briefly browed several items and then left with a pair of Dolce Gabanna sunglasses valued at $220. The two then left in a bluish gray Mazda 2 door passenger car.

LOCATION:         Long Creek Drive, Stevensville

ARREST:              Joseph Eric Best (42) of Stevensville

CHARGE:            Assault 2nd Degree

ARREST:              Nancy Mae Brinson Best (39) of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputies were dispatched to the residence after a 911 call with screaming in the background. Assisted by MdTA Police, the two persons arguing were separated. Mr. Best advised an argument with his wife had begun over how he was cooking ribs. During the argument she grabbed him and pushed him. Mr. Best stated things had gotten out of hand and that he had slapped her on the side of her head. Mr. Best had minor injuries to his left forearm.

 

Mrs. Best was uncooperative and refused to state what had occurred. There was some damaged furniture in the living room where the argument allegedly occurred.

 

Both subjects were placed under arrest for assault. They were transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing and charging documents. They were later released by a District Court Commissioner.

INCIDENT:          Possession of CDS / Assist other Agency

DATE / TIME:     07/08/2013 @ 0017 Hours

LOCATION:         RT 50 near Kent Narrows

VICTIM:              See Narrative

ARREST:              Lindsey Michelle Miles (24) of Centreville

CHARGE:            Possession of CDS / Resisting Arrest

 

NARRATIVE:       A BOLO was issued for a tan Chevrolet SUV being involved in a theft from the WaWa near the Bay Bridge in Anne Arundel County. Deputy Neall had just observed a tan Chevrolet tracker drive past and attempted to locate the vehicle. The vehicle had left RT 50 and gone onto RT 18. The Tracker was located going back onto RT 50 after passing over the Kent Narrows. The tracker had sped up and was about to leave RT 50 again when it was stopped. Driver was identified as Lindsey Miles and upon exiting her vehicle became combative with the deputy and a trooper.

 

Once in custody, a search of the vehicle and belongings of Ms. Miles resulted in the seizure of suspected heroin, marijuana and paraphernalia including a syringe. She was transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing. After being charged, she was later released on her own recognizance by the on-duty District Court Commissioner.

 

According to Maryland Judiciary Case Search she was also charged on a Criminal Summons for Theft in Anne Arundel.

LOCATION:           3000 Block of Bennett Point Road, Queenstown

VICTIM:  Gail J. Schaffer of Queenstown

 

NARRATIVE:         Victim reported that during a home renovation she has discovered numerous pieces of jewelry to be missing. The theft(s) are believed to have occurred sometime between November 2012 and June 31st, 2013. Numerous rings and earrings with a value of nearly $6000 are missing. Victim advised that carpenters, plumbers, electricians, carpet installers and movers have been in and out of the residence. In addition several cleaning services.

NARRATIVE:         Victim reported the theft of two push brooms from his garage valued at $60.

LOCATION:           Rustic Acres Lane, Queenstown

VICTIM:  Margaret A. Garcia of Queenstown

 

NARRATIVE:         Victim advised her daughter is staying with her and that her son-in-law was seen trying to enter a patio door and a bedroom window at the residence. Deputies searched the area without locating him. There was a window screen that was found damaged. The daughter was granted a temporary Peace Order by the Court following this incident. Charges are pending.

INCIDENT:            Assault / Disturbance

DATE / TIME:       07/09/2013 @ 1510 Hours

LOCATION:           100 Block of Scottown Road, Queenstown

 

NARRATIVE:         Deputies responded to the residence following a 911 call for an assault. On arrival deputies interviewed the subjects and learned that police had been there the night before and one female (27) had agreed to leave for the night. Upon returning today another argument had started in the house. Two subjects, [male (21) and female (21)] went to the rear yard to end the argument.  The other female followed and there was some reported pushing to have occurred, during which a 6 year old child was knocked over.

 

None of the parties wanted charges at that time. They were advised on the process to seek charges and peace orders. The female (27) agreed to leave the residence again.
