INCIDENT:           Traffic Collision

DATE / TIME:      01/15/2015 @ 1451 Hours

LOCATION:         Flat Iron Square Road @ Granny Branch Road, Church Hill, MD

Reported motor vehicle accident on Flat Iron Square Road involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle. Preliminary investigation is that a 1999 Hyundai station wagon driven by a female (51) was going south on Granny Branch Road and stopped at the stop sign at Flat Iron Square Road. Then proceeded through the intersection colliding with a QA 2010 Blue Bird school bus going east on Flat Iron Square. The bus was carrying twenty-four (24) students at the time of the accident. Twelve (12) of the bus passengers were transferred to another bus and four (4) were picked up by parents at the location. Eight (8) were transported to Chester River Medical Center for various injuries, none appearing to be life threatening.

The female driver of the passenger car and her daughter (16) were flown from the scene to Shock Trauma in Baltimore as a precaution. Investigation is continuing at this time.
