INCIDENT:           Theft Scheme

DATE / TIME:      01/29/2016 & 02/05/2016

LOCATION:         Centreville National Bank

DETAILS:              Investigation of three checks cashed at bank branches in Grasonville, Chester and Stevensville on the above dates after it was determined that the checks were fraudulent.  A subject using identification of Jeffery Lee Stevens III had cashed the checks which were drawn on the account of The Lumber Yard Inc. located in St. Michaels, MD. and totaled for over $4000.

Comparison of a known picture of Stevens and the suspect confirmed that Jeffrey Stevens was the person cashing the checks.

Charges were requested and issued for 3 counts of Issue of Counterfeit Order, 3 Counts of Forgery for Money & Goods, 3 counts of Obtaining Goods & Money by Forgery, 3 Counts of Theft and I count of Theft Scheme.

 

Jeffrey Stevens III (22) of Glen Burnie, MD was arrested on February 25th in Baltimore City. He currently remains in the Queen Anne’s Co. Detention Center on a $4000 Bond.

INCIDENT:           Driving Suspended / Possession of CDS

DATE / TIME:      02/05/2016

LOCATION:         Main Street, Stevensville, MD

 

DETAILS:              A silver Toyota was stopped after crossing the center line several times.  The driver identified as Johnathan Tyler Hutcherson (22) of Chestertown,(QA) MD  was found to be suspended. A scan by K9 Blek  indicated possible CDS and a search resulted in the seizure of suspected marijuana (under 10 Grams), paraphernalia and a street sign from Centreville.

Hutchinson was issued a civil citation for the suspected marijuana and traffic citations and then released.  A criminal summons was issued charging Hutcherson with theft has also been issued.

INCIDENT:           Possession of CDS / Paraphernalia

DATE / TIME:      02/08/2016 @ 1322 Hours

LOCATION:         120 Broadway @ Parole & Probation Office

 

DETAILS:              Parole & Probation Office called to advise that a subject there had an outstanding warrant.

Cpl. Fraser responded and took the subject Candice Marie Timms (22) of Sudlersville into custody. She was then transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing.

 

At the time of her arrest she had in her possession of a backpack which was searched. Among her items three syringes, a cook spoon with suspected heroin residue and cotton swabs also with suspected CDS residue.

 

Timms was held on the Circuit Warrant with additional charges pending lab results.

INCIDENT:           THEFT

DATE / TIME:      02/08/2016 @ 1502 (Reported)

LOCATION:         411 Winchester Creek Road, Grasonville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputy was called to Grande Yachts International after an employee there had discovered several boats had been tampered with. A closer inspection revealed that numerous boats had been tampered with, with five having their GPS systems and other electrical devices taken.

 

It appears that the theft occurred sometime between Friday 2/5 and Monday 02/08. No indication that the fence or gate were tampered with which leads to the possibility the thief(s) may have come in by water.

 

Theft loss and damages were estimated at over $100,000. The investigation has been assigned to Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

DATE / TIME:      02/09/2016 @ 1302 Hours

LOCATION:         200 Kent Landing, Stevensville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputy was requested to respond to K-Mart for thefts by two store employees. Store Asset Manager had interviewed the suspects and both had confessed to taking numerous items over the past couple of months.

 

The two admitted to taking sodas, food and candy items, cell phone accessories, shoes, and a battery for a Vape. The items had a value of over $100.

 

Both subjects were escorted out of the store and criminal charges were submitted to the court.

 

On 2/23 a Criminal summons charging Taylor Renee Stacey (18) of Stevensville with 6 counts of theft was served. The following day a Criminal Summons was served on Tyler Daine Eichelberger (18) of Stevensville for six counts of theft.

INCIDENT:           DWI

DATE / TIME:      02/10/2016 @2020 Hours

LOCATION:         Sparks Mill Road, Centreville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Deputies responded to Sparks Mill Road for a report of a vehicle off the roadway. On arrival  there was a red Chrysler with the front tires stuck in the mud.

 

The driver, Holly Maria Sparks (30) of Church Hill had an odor of alcoholic beverage about her and that she had been to a couple establishments in Centreville with friends. She was requested to attempt several field sobriety tasks and based on observations was placed under arrest and charged with DWI. She was later released to a family member.

INCIDENT:           Theft

DATE / TIME:      02/12/2016@ 0145 Hours

LOCATION:         1925 Main Street, Chester, MD

 

DETAILS:              Employee at Safeway advised he recognized a female enter the store who in the past was a suspected shoplifter. The female picked up several items and went thru the checkout paying for her items. A short time later she returned, picked up some additional items and leave without paying. The female was followed and left in a silver car.

 

Deputies responding recalled a similar case and responded to that female’s residence and saw there was a silver car in the driveway. Contact was made with the female who admitted to being at Safeway and making a purchase but denied shoplifting.

 

Deputies returned to Safeway and watched the video which showed the female picking up items and leaving the store without making payment.

 

As a result a Criminal Summons has been issued for Ashley Danielle Zimmerman (27) of Stevensville for Theft.

LOCATION:         Perry’s Corner Road at Talismen Lane, Grasonville

 

DETAILS:              A subcontractor for Delmarva Power reported that about 1000 feet of copper wire suspended in the air between poles had been cut and removed sometime on 2/11.

The copper wire was Number 4 type and valued at $400.

LOCATION:         3000 Block of Price Station Road, Centreville

 

DETAILS:              Victim reported the theft of her wallet from her vehicle during the night while parked in her driveway. She stated that she left her VW Beetle unlocked and wallet in plain view on the console.  The wallet was a robin’s egg blue with gold accent made by Kate Spade. The wallet had several gift cards and cash. The loss was estimated at $470.

DATE / TIME:      02/15/2016 @ 0040 Hours

LOCATION:         800 Block of Thompson Creek, Stevensville

 

DETAILS:              It was by a parent that his son had friends over for a party when six additional persons showed up and attempted to crash the party. The parent told them to leave but as they did broke the taillights on a vehicle, drove onto a neighbor’s lawn putting ruts in the yard, damaging a fence and flagpole.

 

The suspect vehicles were a silver Dodge pickup and a red pickup. Investigation continues.

DATE / TIME:      02/15/2016 @ 0440 Hours

LOCATION:         600 Block of Prospect Bay E, Grasonville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Victim reported hearing a car door and that the dogs were barking so she looked out the window to see a young male running from the driveway.

Upon going outside the victim located her child’s backpack on the ground and that both vehicles had been entered but not damaged. The only item missing was a Michael Kors wallet valued at $75.

DATE / TIME:      02/15/2016 @ 1153 Hours (Reported)

LOCATION:         800 Block of Kimberly Way, Stevensville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Victim reported leaving her purse in her unlocked vehicle and when leaving the following morning discovered it missing. Victim had already cancelled the credit cards and no cash was in the purse which was valued at $45.

INCIDENT:           Fraud / Scam

DATE / TIME:      02/16/2016 @ 1521 Hours

LOCATION:         2000 Block of Piney Creek Road, Chester, MD

 

DETAILS:              The proprietor of the Xtra Mart reported he had been contacted by phone that he needed to make a payment immediately or the power to the store was going to be disconnected. The caller told in to go to the nearby Safeway and purchase Paypower Visa cards to make the payment. He returned to the store and called the number he had been given and made the payment.

 

As soon as the payment was made the phone call was disconnected.

 

The loss was over $2000.

 

Reminder: The IRS and Power Companies will not call and demand money. In addition be sure that the caller who states he/she is a relative and needs immediate bail money is real as well.

INCIDENT:           Domestic Assault

DATE / TIME:      02/19/2016 @ 0650 Hours

LOCATION:         200 Block of Tennessee Road, Stevensville, MD

 

DETAILS:              Several persons at the residence reported that Mark Henry Baker Jr. (29) of Stevensville had been unconscious in the bathroom and upon waking up started to beat on a male resident and then tried to put his mother into a headlock. Another male at the home subdued Baker until police arrived.

 

Mark Baker was placed under arrest and charged with assault.
