INCIDENT: CDS Possession not Marijuana

ARRESTED: Thomas Hanifee 35yo male from Sudlersville, MD
LOCATION: John Powell Road Sudlersville, MD 21668
DETAILS: Deputies responded to an address on John Powell Road for a call for service. While on scene, deputies made contact with Thomas Hanifee and it was discovered that he had 2 open warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed a plastic container containing suspected heroin along with a hypodermic needle. He was transported to headquarters for processing and was held without bond by the Commissioner’s Office.

INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana Less Than 10 grams
DATE AND TIME REPORTED: 02/26/18 1852hrs
LOCATION: Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666
NARRATIVE: On 02/26/18 at approximately 1852hrs, Deputy Sackrider responded to the area for a report of a verbal disturbance. Upon his arrival on the scene, he spoke with a male subject named Adrein Cuffey, who stated he was previously involved in an argument with a female at that location. While speaking with the subject about the circumstances of the call, the male subject voluntarily handed Deputy Sackrider a small amount of Marijuana. The male subject was subsequently charged on a civil citation for the possession of marijuana, no police action was required for the initial disturbance call since all the parties were separated and calm.

INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana Less Than 10 grams
DATE AND TIME REPORTED: 02/26/18 2239hrs
LOCATION: Kent Narrows Bridge area of Grasonville, MD 21638
NARRATIVE: On 2/26/18 at approximately 2239hrs, Dfc Neall conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Hyundai Sonata in the area of the Kent Narrows Bridge in Grasonville, for exceeding the posted speed limit and failing maintain a single lane of travel. While Dfc Neall was speaking with the driver, who was identified as Ira Helm 3rd, he was able to smell the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a small amount of marijuana was located inside of a cigarillo package. The driver was subsequently charged on a civil citation for the possession of marijuana. The driver was issued a written warning for the traffic related offenses.

COMPLAINANT: 34 yr. old male from Chester, MD
INVOLVED VEHICLES: Black 2006 Saturn Vue, MD registration 8CD8093
Black 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, MD registration 5CP3963
DETAILS: Complainant advised that he found the following items stolen from two of his vehicles this morning at approximately 06:05 AM: two cell phone chargers valued at $25; a Husky ¼ inch socket wrench valued at $20; and a pair of earbud headphones valued at $20. Total value of the stolen items is $65. Both vehicles had been left unlocked overnight. Investigation is ongoing. INCIDENT: Suspicious Circumstances / CDS Violation

LOCATION: Route 213 @ Round Top Road Chestertown, MD
ARRESTED: Frederick Taylor (57 yr. old male from Federalsburg, MD)
DETAILS: While on patrol in the area, Cpl. Martz observed a black male (later identified as Frederick Taylor) trying to hitchhike on South bound route 213. Cpl. Martz made contact with the subject who advised he was trying to catch a ride to Centreville, MD. Taylor gave Cpl. Martz consent to search. Subsequent to the search Cpl. Martz located a silver metal pipe with black tape on it. Cpl. Martz conducted a CDS test on the pipe which resulted in confirming the presence of Cocaine. Taylor was arrested for the violation. After the booking and processing procedures were completed at the Sheriff’s Office, Taylor was transported for his initial appearance at the Court Commissioner’s Office where he ultimately was released on personal recognizance.
