INCIDENT: Warrant service/Controlled Dangerous Substance not Marijuana

LOCATION: Rt. 50 E/B @ Marshy Creek Rd, Grasonville MD
ARRESTED: Tradon Martice McCants, 27yo from Baltimore MD
DETAILS: Deputies were on routine patrol in the area of Rt. 50 E/B @ Marshy Creek Rd, Grasonville MD, when they observed a black in color, 2017 Jeep Patriot bearing a Maryland registration, with their high beams on while approaching other vehicles. Deputies pulled behind the vehicle and paced the vehicle. The vehicle traveled from 45 mph to 65mph. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and contact was made with the driver, who was identified as Tradon Martice McCants. A motor vehicle administrative check and a warrant check was completed on McCants. Investigations revealed that McCants had an active District Court Warrant through Dorchester County.
A K9 was called to the scene which subsequently resulted with a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was completed and items were located such as; 1 straw containing suspected CDS, and 2 baggies containing suspected edible objects with unknown chemical composite.
Those items will be sent off to the MSP lab for testing and charges are pending the results.
McCants was issued:
1. Citation: Driver Failure to reduce light distribution when within 300 feet of approaching
Vehicle from rear
2. Citation: Willfully driving motor vehicle at slow speed
3. Citation: Exceeding posted maximum speed limit
4. Citation: Negligent driving
5. Citation: Failure to drive vehicle on right half of roadway when required
6. Citation: Driver changing lanes when unsafe
McCants was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $25,000.00 bond.

Incident: Malicious Destruction of Property -$500.00

Location: 100 Block of Maryland Road, Stevensville , Md.21666
Narrative: On 04/18/18 at 1:43pm, Dfc. Pack responded to a report of a burglary in progress. Upon his arrival, Dfc. Pack had learned that two suspects had arrived at the victim’s home and began causing a disturbance. The victim reported hearing people yelling outside of his home and then heard glass break on the rear of his home. He further advised that he observed one of the suspects attempt to open one of the windows on the home. Dfc. Pack then examined the residence and observed broken glass on the rear storm door and the open window. Mr. Underwood advised Dfc. Pack that he knew who the suspects were and directed him on where they had fled. Dfc. Pack located the suspects at a nearby residence. Both suspects were identified as Wayne Reed Jr. and Jasmine Ferguson. They were both arrested and transported to the Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County.

INCIDENT: Fraud

VICTIM: Chesapeake College 1000 College Circle Queenstown, MD 21658
DETAILS: A/Cpl. Sewell responded to the Chesapeake College to meet with a staff member of the Financial Services Division. A/Cpl. Sewell was advised that someone had made fraudulent checks with the college’s account number and deposited the checks into an out of state bank. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County and ask to speak with A/Cpl. Sewell.
