INCIDENT:  Underage Possession of Alcohol

DATE / TIME:  4/21/2018 @ 7:06PM

LOCATION:   Kent Island High School

CHARGED:  17yo male Stevensville, MD 21666

DETAILS:   Dfc. Rickard and F/Sgt. Jones observed a gold Toyota Camry at the Kent Island High School that was observed earlier in the evening with possible underage alcohol possession.  F/Sgt. Jones spoke with the driver and the driver showed F/Sgt. Jones a bottle of vodka in the vehicle.  A citation was issued to the driver and later released to a parent.

INCIDENT:  Underage Alcohol Violation

DATE / TIME:  Saturday April 21, 2018 @ 1906 hrs.

LOCATION(s):  Kent Island High School 900 Love Point Road Stevensville, MD

VICTIM: State of Maryland

SUSPECT: M-W-17 Stevensville, MD

CHARGE(S): Possession of alcoholic beverages by a person under 21 years of age

DISPOSITION: Released to parent/guardian

DETAILS:   On Saturday April 21, 2018 several deputies of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office were participating in an enforcement initiative targeting underage alcohol violations. This enforcement initiative was intended to reduce availability and consumption of alcoholic beverages by local youth. At approximately 1900 hrs., Deputies received a complaint of possible underage drinking inside of a vehicle near the Annie’s Restaurant in Grasonville, MD. The caller believed that the underage occupants were possibly headed to the prom at Kent Island High School. Deputies searched the area of the restaurant but were unable to locate the described vehicle. Approximately 30 minutes later, deputies located that same vehicle as it entered the Kent Island High School parking area. Deputies contacted the occupants, and informed them of the earlier underage drinking complaint. Deputies located two (2) bottles of vodka inside of the vehicle. Investigation revealed that one occupant (17 year old male) had been drinking the alcoholic beverages while sitting in the vehicle at the restaurant. That male was issued a civil citation for underage alcohol possession. The other occupants were released to a parent/guardian without charges.

INCIDENT:         Burglary

DATE / TIME:    4/20/18 at 2:46PM

LOCATION:       (Duck Neck Campground) 500 Double Creek Point Rd., Chestertown, Md. 21620)

Victim:             84 of  Rockville, Md

DETAILS:    Dfc. Jones responded for a past burglary complaint at a campsite within the campground. Sometime between 4/16/18 and 4/20/18, unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a locked RV/dwelling. Several items had been moved inside of the dwelling, but nothing seemed to have been missing, at this time. A number of items were found to be of evidentiary value. This investigation continues. INCIDENT:  Burglary

DATE/TIME:  04/21/2018 @ 12:11AM

VICTIM:  58yo male Stevensville, Md

DETAILS:  Deputy Dickey responded to Cable House Road Stevensville, Md in reference to a burglary.  The victim advised that when he arrived home he noticed his front door was ajar.  When he searched his residence he noticed he was missing two laptops. The total value was approximately $627.00.  Investigation is ongoing.

INCIDENT:  Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance not Marijuana

DATE / TIME:  04/20/2018 @ 9:00PM

LOCATION:   Safeway Parking Lot Main Street Chester, MD

ARRESTED:  Thomas Brew 46yo male from Annapolis, Md

Kelly Gonzalez 41yo female from Chester, Md

CHARGES FOR BOTH SUBJECTS:  Possession of CDS not marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Possession of CDS administering equipment.

DETAILS:  Deputies responded to the Safeway in reference to subjects in a red Chevy Cavalier possibly using drugs.  Upon arriving they made contact with Kelly Gonzalez.  Gonzalez granted consent for the vehicle to be searched which resulted in needles containing suspected heroin being located in the vehicle.  She also advised that she had arrived with Thomas Brew.  Brew was located inside the store and was also placed under arrest.  Both Subjects were taken before a District Court Commissioner were Brew was held with Bail and Gonzalez was held on $ 2,000 at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center pending trial.

INCIDENT:  Possession of Marijuana under 10 grams

DATE/TIME:  4/21/2018 @ 9:30PM

LOCATION:  Main Street @ Castle Marina Road Chester, MD 21619

CHARGED:  17yo male Stevensville, Md

DETAILS:  Cpl. Martz observed a silver Saturn passenger car traveling above the posted speed limit in the area of Main Street and Castle Marina Road, Chester, MD.  Cpl. Martz initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon approaching it, detected an odor of burnt marijuana.  A search was conducted of the vehicle and marijuana less than 10 grams was located.  All three juveniles admitted to ownership of the marijuana and were charged on a juvenile citation and released to their parents.

INCIDENT:  Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

DATE / TIME:  04/21/2018 @ 11:06PM

LOCATION:   Ruthsburg Road @ Rt. 301 Centreville, MD

ARRESTED:  John Martin 55yo male, Dover, DE

DETAILS:  Dfc. Piasecki observed a gold Honda truck traveling on Ruthsburg Road Centreville, MD with inoperable tag lights.  He initiated a traffic stop and pulled the vehicle over.  Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Dfc. Piasecki detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Field sobriety tests were attempted and Martin was ultimately placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and later released to a sober adult.

LOCATION:  Under Kent Narrows Bridge Chester, MD

CHARGED:  17yo female Stevensville, MD

DETAILS:  Dfc. Prince initiated a traffic stop on a white jeep passenger car under the Kent Narrows bridge for failing to stop at a stop sign.  A probable cause search was conducted and a bottle of alcohol was located along with a vape.  The juvenile was released to a parent.

INCIDENT: Furnishing Alcohol to Minors

CHARGED:  Alexander Townsend 21yo male Stevensville, MD

2 seventeen year old males from Stevensville, MD

DETAILS:  Dfc. Prince conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda Civic in the area of the Thompson Creek Service Road Stevensville, Md for failing to stop at a stop sign.  An 18 pack of Rolling Rock beer and a bottle of liquor were recovered from the vehicle.  Townsend admitted to purchasing the alcohol for 2 nineteen year old males.  Townsend was charged on an adult criminal citation and released from the scene.  The two 17 year old males were charged and released on a civil citation.

LOCATION:       200 blk Old Wharf Ln., Queenstown, Md. 21658

DETAILS:      55 year old male victim reported that unknown suspect(s), sometime between 4/11/18 and 4/20/18, obtained his personal info and attempted to secure lines of credit through a lending company. The suspect(s) were apparently unsuccessful and measures have been taken to thwart future attempts. The investigation continues. Anyone with info, contact QACSO.

INCIDENT:         Recovered CDS

DATE / TIME:    4/21/18 at 10:09AM

LOCATION:       Chesapeake Church of Christ, 405 Drummer Drive, Grasonville, Md. 21638

DETAILS:    QACSO unit responded for the report of found CDS outside of the Church. Upon arrival, contact was made with the caller who advised that he was cleaning around the outside of the church when he located a bag with contained several syringes, 2 glass pipes and a metal spoon. He immediately called police. The found items were seized by Dep. Barlow and transported back to the QACSO and marked for destruction.

INCIDENT:       DUI

DATE / TIME:    4/21/18 at 3:00pm

LOCATION:       Rt. 50 (West), near Jackson Creek Rd., Grasonville, Md. 21617

DETAILS:         Numerous 911 calls had been received regarding a Silver Chevy Tahoe, driving erratically and using excessive speed on Rt. 50 westbound. Deputy Barlow was able locate the Tahoe, witness the erratic driving firsthand, and then make a traffic stop of the SUV. Contact was made with the driver, William Arrington (34YO), who exhibited signs that he was under the influence of alcohol. Deputy Barlow then administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests to Arrington who was placed under arrest for DUI. He was cited for DUI related offenses, as well as unsafe lane change, speed greater than reasonable, and negligent driving. He was subsequently released on his signature to a sober, valid driver.

INCIDENT:      Stolen Motorcycle

DATE / TIME:              4/22/18 at 10:42AM

LOCATION:     100 block Graces Lane, Grasonville, Md. 21638

Victim:             38 of Grasonville, Md

DETAIL:   QACSO units responded for a complaint of a past stolen motorcycle. The owner of the motorcycle is currently in another state. She was advised that the motorcycle she had bought (2007 Suzuki GSXR1000, black in color, VA tag 976097 valued at $3,800) and left at a friend’s residence had been stolen. Deputy Patikowski responded to Grace’s Lane, made contact with a witness, who advised the motorcycle had been stolen sometime between 4/21/18 and 4/22/18, by unknown suspect(s). The provided tag number was checked but came back as not on file. The victim advised she would be back in Maryland on 4/23 and can obtain the needed info then. The investigation continues. Piasecki responded to Spaniard Neck Road and spoke with the victim who reported within the past week, someone entered into a vehicle on the property and removed a electronic tablet valued at $250.00. DATE / TIME:              04/22/18 @ 10:39 pm

Defendant:       Benjamin Underwood 20yo male Stevensville, MD

DETAILS:   While at a residence on Maryland Road for a disturbance, Dep. Carnaggio spoke with Benjamin Underwood. It was later discovered Benjamin had in his possession a glass smoking device and suspected marijuana less than 10 grams. A civil citation was issued for the possession of marijuana.

DATE / TIME:  Sunday April 22, 2018 @ 0019 hrs.

LOCATION(s):  7-11 Store 110 Pullman’s Crossing Grasonville, md

VICTIM: State of Maryland

SUSPECT: Mitchell James Harash (M-W-22 years old)

Stevensville, MD

CHARGE(S): Possession of marijuana less than 10 grams (civil citation)

DISPOSITION: Released on signature

DETAILS:  On Sunday April 22, 2018 several deputies of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office were participating in an enforcement initiative targeting underage alcohol and drug violations. This enforcement initiative was intended to reduce availability and consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs by local youth. At approximately 0019 hrs., Deputies were conducting a patrol check of the 7-11 Store in Grasonville, MD. While conducting that check, deputies observed a gray pickup truck with multiple occupants attempting to quickly back out of a parking space in front of the store. As the vehicle was traveling backward, a white male was attempting to open the front passenger door and jump inside. Deputies subsequently stopped the vehicle to investigate the incident and prevent injury to the male attempting to jump inside the vehicle. Upon speaking with the vehicle’s driver (identified as Mitchell Harash), deputies observed suspected marijuana and associated paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. Deputies recovered several smoking devices and less than 10 grams of suspected marijuana from the vehicle. The driver (Harash) was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana less than 10 grams, and was released on his signature.
