INCIDENT: DWI ARREST
DATE / TIME: 07/05/2012 @ 0006 Hours
LOCATION: Main Street @ Stevensville
ARREST: Frank Lee McFaden (63) of Stevensville
CHARGE: DWI / Failure to Sign Citation
NARRATIVE: A silver Toyota Tundra was observed making a right turn and crossing the center line causing an oncoming vehicle to pull onto the shoulder to avoid a collision. The truck was stopped and the driver identified as Frank McFaden of Stevensville. The driver had an odor of alcohol upon his person and he stated he had been to a party. When asked to step from the vehicle, the driver was unsteady, supported himself by holding onto the truck and appeared to have spilled something on his pants.
After attempting to complete several Field Sobriety Tasks, Mr. Mcfaden was placed under arrest for DWI. When asked to sign the citation and other documents, McFaden refused to cooperate. After issuing the charging documents, McFaden was escorted to a nearby residence and released to a sober person.

VICTIM: Charles J. Leager of Sudlersville
NARRATIVE: Victim reported he is in the process of building a house at the location and left his box trailer on location on 7/3 and upon returning on 7/5 noticed someone had cut the lock on the side door and removed his DeWalt laser transit, DeWalt 10 in Table Saw, and two Hitachi Nail Guns valued at $2200.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported the theft of eight solar yard lights from her front yard. The lights, valued at $80 were taken during the day sometime between 0900 hours and 1423 hours.

INCIDENT: Assault

LOCATION: Wells Cove Road, Grasonville
VICTIM: Kevin T. Lee of Bladensburg MD
Suspect: Male (65) from Bowie
NARRATIVE: Deputies responded to an assault in the parking lot located on Wells Cove Road. On arrival they located a male, identified as Kevin Lee with bloody shirt and minor cuts and blood on his face. Lee refused to identify the person who had assaulted him and stated he was fine.
A second subject was located who advised that he, his grandson and friends including Lee had been to the location fishing when Lee began to toss fishing equipment around and dumping fish on the ground. When confronted about his behavior, Lee the swung at the man and a physical altercation occurred. Neither individual indicated they wanted to charge anyone and left together.

LOCATION: 600 Block of Old Love Point Road, Stevensville
VICTIM: Sean M. Kelly of Stevensville
NARRATIVE: Victim reported his mailbox being knocked off of its post during the night and the support beam broken. Damage was estimated at $80. Victim stated he and his neighbor have had issues with a unknown white male throwing objects at their homes.
A patrol thru the area resulted in locating several additional mailboxes damaged recently on Kimberly Way. Total estimated mailbox damage in the area was $450.
The Sheriff’s Office received a photo of a possible suspect and is asking for assistance in Identifying the male.

INCIDENT: Theft

LOCATION: 1925 Main Street, Chester – (Safeway)
VICTIM: Douglas G. Brooks of Chestertown
NARRATIVE: Victim reported that he was at a checkout counter at Safeway in Chester and while paying for his items, set his wallet down on the counter. Victim stated he left his wallet behind when he left and upon realizing he forgot it, returned to the store and the wallet was gone. The wallet was a brown leather bi-fold wallet with assorted cards and $600 cash.
Security footage showed a the customer behind the victim at the check-out picking up the wallet and leaving the store. The victim’s Social Security Card and a HD Owners Club Card where later recovered from the side of 301 near the Outlets in Queenstown.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported the theft of a bicycle from his gated rear yard. The theft occurred on 7/5 sometime from 2030 to 2100 hours. The bike was described as red & silver Next Pro X with 18 speeds valued at $125.

LOCATION: 800 Block of Chester River Drive, Grasonville
VICTIM: Jonathan T. Messick of Grasonville
NARRATIVE: Victim reported that his 2006 Chevrolet truck had been vandalized while parked in the driveway. The truck had all four tires slashed and several places on the truck body with extensive scratch marks. It was also discovered that paint thinner had been poured into the gas tank. The tires were reported to be new, as the victim stated his tires were slashed about two ago. Damage was estimated at $2300.

INCIDENT: Assault / Violation of Protection Order

LOCATION: 200 Block of Somerset Road, Stevensville
VICTIM: Kathryn Sabo of Stevensville
ARREST: Jamie Michael Pike (37) of Stevensville
CHARGE: Assault 2nd Degree / Violation of Protection Order
NARRATIVE: Deputy Harris was dispatched to the residence where the victim reported being assaulted by Mr. Pike. Jamie Pike had been arrested by MSP the day before for assaulting Ms. Sabo. While in custody a Protective Order was issued and served at the Commissioner’s Office by Cpl. Carr of the Sheriff’s Office.
On 7/7 Mr. Pike returned to the residence in violation of the order in an attempt to retrieve his belongings. While at the residence, Pike is alleged to have followed the victim into a laundry room where he grabbed and pushed the victim. Mr. Pike was taken into custody at which time he complained of chest pains. He was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment. On 7/9 he was released from the Hospital and charged with Violation of the Order and assault. He was held by a District Court Commissioner on a $50,000 Bond. At a bail review the Judge lowered the bail to $15,000.

NARRATIVE: Victim reported the theft of a yellow Current Design Storm kayak from his front yard. Victim stated he had the kayak for sale and it was unsecured in the yard. A possible suspect vehicle is a dark colored van. The kayak was valued at $250.

NARRATIVE: Subject was observed driving a rented silver Nissan sedan by a Deputy on patrol. Deputy Neall recognized Gray and stopped him after verifying he was revoked. Gray was issued a citation for Driving while Revoked.

INCIDENT: Death Investigation

LOCATION: Stevensville Cemetery (Rt. 18)
VICTIM: Male (69) of Brooklyn, MD
NARRATIVE: Subject called 911 and advised he was about to harm himself, gave the location because he wanted his body to be found quickly. As Deputies arrived, the male shot himself in the head with a small caliber handgun. He was flown to Shock Trauma where he was pronounced dead. The subject apparently choose the location as family members were buried there.

INCIDENT: Driving without License

LOCATION: Nichols Manor Drive, Stevensville
ARREST: Male (15) of Stevensville
CHARGE: Driving without Proper License
NARRATIVE: A gold four door sedan nearly side swiped Deputy Harris on Nichols Manor Drive. The vehicle then accelerated turning onto Kimberly Way where it was stopped. The driver and passenger were both found to be 15 years of age who stated the driver had taken a parents new car without permission and was driving in the Cloverfields neighborhood. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the driver was released to parents at the scene. A juvenile referral was submitted to Juvenile Justice.

LOCATION: Prospect Bay Road, Grasonville
ARREST: Miranda Ofelia (30) of Grasonville
CHARGE: Driving without Proper Driver’s License
NARRATIVE: Radar was being operated in the area and a red Chevrolet Cavalier was stopped for speeding. The driver was identified as Miranda Ofelia and she was able to advise she did not possess a driver’s license. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Headquarters for processing and issued a citation.
