PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT: Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS)
DATE / TIME: 8/05/18 at approximately 7:51 pm
LOCATION: Route 300 at John Powell Road in Church Hill, MD
DRIVER: Justin Frampton, 22yo male from Rock Hall, MD
DETAILS: Deputy First Class (DFC) Prince was in the area of Route 300 at John Powell Road when he observed a blue 2006 Saturn Ion traveling above the posted speed limit. DFC Prince conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Justin Frampton. While speaking with Frampton, DFC Prince detected an odor of Marijuana. Subsequently, DFC Prince recovered less than 10 grams of marijuana from the vehicle. Frampton was issued a civil citation for possessing less than 10 grams of marijuana and a traffic citation for driving over the posted speed limit.

DATE / TIME: 8/04/18 at approximately 7:30 pm
LOCATION: 100 Block of Wood Duck Lane in Chestertown, MD
VICTIM: 40yo male from Chestertown, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Sutton responded to the above address in reference to a theft. The victim stated that he had left his residence at 6:30 pm on August 4th with a few friends. When the victim came back about twenty minutes later, he noticed his front door opened. He also noticed that his prescription of Adderall and one 15ML medical Marijuana vape pen cartridge was missing from inside his residence. The victim added that his door was unlocked at the time. INCIDENT: Burglary 4th degree
DATE / TIME: 8/05/18 at approximately 3:26 pm
LOCATION: 1100 Block of Church Hill Road, Centreville, MD
VICTIM: 65yo male from Centreville, MD
DETAILS: Deputy First Class (DFC) Prince responded to the above location regarding a past theft. The victim stated that on August 3rd he noticed that three items were missing from his store. The preliminary investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry. The three items reported missing were a 3 inch Bosch hand-held electric plane which was in a blue Bosch case, a Bosch AM/FM radio, and an 8 inch Milwaukee circular saw. LOCATION: 1300 Block of Sonny Schulz, Stevensville, MD
DRIVER: Nazjahier Middleton, 19yo male from Stafford, VA
PASSENGER: 15yo female from Chester, MD

DETAILS: Deputy Sackrider was in the area of Maryland Route 8 less than ¼ mile south of United States Route 50 when he observed a 1994 Brown Buick LeSabre driving over the speed limit. While observing this vehicle, Deputy Sackrider noticed the driver go onto the Sonny Schulz Boulevard and park in the parking lot for Carpet Logistics. The driver, identified as Nazjahier Middleton, exited his vehicle and began looking through the door of Carpet Logistics. When asked, Middleton stated that he was just turning around. While on the scene, an employee for Carpet Logistics arrived and informed Deputy Sackrider that this parking lot is on private property. Incident to criminal indicators, a K-9 was called to the scene to complete a scan of the vehicle. The scan resulted in a positive identification of a possible controlled dangerous substance. A search of the vehicle was completed and multiple partial marijuana cigarettes were found within the vehicle. The driver and passengers were charged with possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.

LOCATION: 600 Block of Dominion Road in Chester, MD
DRIVER: Walter Kelley II, 28yo male from Chester, MD
OWNER OF VEHICLE: Amanda Marie Taylor, 34yo female from Denton, MD
PASSENGER: Jessica Parker, 35yo female from Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Sackrider was patrolling the area of Dominion road to look for a reported suspicious vehicle. Deputy Sackrider located the vehicle that had turned onto the dirt and grass access road in order to enter the cemetery. The vehicle was described as a silver 1999 Honda four-door sedan. Deputy Sackrider spoke with the occupants of the vehicle. The three occupants were identified as Walter Kelly II, Amanda Taylor, and Jessica Parker. A check through the Motor Vehicle Administration was conducted to verify the registration of the vehicle. The check revealed that the registration tags were suspended. A K-9 was called to the scene to complete a scan of the vehicle. The scan resulted in a positive identification of a possible controlled dangerous substance. A search of the vehicle was completed and suspected marijuana was found in the vehicle. Kelley admitted to having a syringe, which contained a suspected controlled dangerous substance (CDS), in his pocket. The syringe was confiscated and Kelley was charged with possession of CDS and given a civil citation for the possession of marijuana. He was later taken in front of the District Court Commissioner and was subsequently taken to the Detention Center.

LOCATION: 300 Block of Hanna Court in Chester, MD
VICTIM: 35yo female from Chester, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Thomas responded to the above location in reference to a theft. The victim stated that an unknown suspect forged her signature on one of her checks. The unknown suspect also cashed the check in the amount of $200. The victim noticed the unauthorized check while checking her account balance. The victim advised that she may have left her checkbook in her vehicle with the doors unlocked but she wasn’t sure if she had done that. This investigation is ongoing. LOCATION: Walgreens, 1802 Main St, Chester, MD
VICTIM: 85yo female from Stevensville, MD
DETAILS: Deputy Thomas responded to the above location in reference to a theft. The victim stated that her wallet was stolen from her purse. The victim advised that she was approached by an unknown male while shopping. The male informed her that he couldn’t read the small lettering on an item that he wanted to purchase and that he requested she read it for him. The victim stated she agreed to do so and kneeled down to the lower shelf to pick up the item the suspect requested her to read. When she read the item, she stood up to tell the suspect the price and noticed her purse was open and her wallet was missing. According to the victim, the suspect was a black male, about 5’8 and 40 years old, wearing a blue and white shirt, white shorts, a white hat and white shoes. This investigation is ongoing.
