PRESS RELEASE

INCIDENT:       Theft under $100.00 – FOLLOW-UP

DATE / TIME: 8/7/17 @ 8:11AM

LOCATION: Shore Stop @   100 Main St. Stevensville

DETAILS: On 8/7/17 at approximately 8:11AM DFC Cooper responded to the above address in reference to a theft that just occurred. Upon arrival employees explained that a male subject had entered the store took meat and cheese     from the refrigerator walked past the cashier and exited the store. The suspect did not attempt to pay and did not return to pay for the items. A positive identification was made of the suspect. This case is open with attempts to locate and contact the suspect ongoing.

**UPDATE** On 8/8/17 at 9:00AM suspect Randall Benjamin Jiles was located in the Stevensville area. He was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to The Sheriff’s Office for Processing and later to the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance. He was released on his own personal recognizance.

INCIDENT: Multiple Thefts from Auto’s

DATE / TIME:  8/8/17 / 9:00AM

LOCATION: North Centreville Area of Spaniards Neck Rd and Watson Rd

DETAILS: On 8/8/17 several residents in the north area of Centreville in the areas of Watson Rd, Gray Fox Ln, Dove, Ln and Spaniard Neck Rd reported that there vehicles had been broken into. All the victims advised that the involved vehicles were unlocked. It’s believed that the thefts all occurred during the early morning hours between 3:00AM and 8:00AM. With the exception of a power converter and woman’s Green Coach Wallet the only items taken were U.S. Currency in coins value in total of approximately $500.00. One victim of this incident happened to find another victim’s wallet and related credit cards near his residence. The recovered property was returned to the original owners. Due to the assistance provided by Centreville Police Dept. possible suspects have been developed. This investigation is ongoing at this time. INCIDENT:    MDOP under $1,000.

DATE / TIME:     8/8/17 at 5:39 PM.

LOCATION:        3000 BLK Price Station Rd., Centreville, Md. 21617

DETAILS:          QACSO units responded for a vandalism/Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with the caller, Jerry Wicker. He advised that sometime between 8/5/17 at 8:00PM and 8/7/17 at 10:00AM, unknown suspect(s) damaged the mailbox to that residence. The cost to replace the mailbox is approx. $20. This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with info, please contact the QACSO.

INCIDENT:          Theft under $1,000.

DATE / TIME:     8/8/17 at 8:01PM

LOCATION:        1200 BLK Love Point Rd., Stevensville, Md. 21666

DETAILS:     QACSO units responded for a theft complaint at a residence. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim, Nancy Crim, who advised that sometime between 8/4/17 at 7:00PM and 8/5/17 at 1:00PM, unknown suspect(s) stole her Trek Mountain Bike, dark colored, with a basket attached. Contained in the basket was a silver colored helmet. The bike is valued at $500 and the helmet at $20.
