Incident: Bank Robbery

Date / Time: 4/11/2014 @ 1728 Hours

Location: Bank of America, Shopping Center Road, Chester

 

Narrative: Suspect entered the bank and while at the teller window demanded money. No weapon was displayed but the suspect indicated there was one. Upon getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot heading towards RT 18. None of the bank employees and customers in the bank were harmed.

 

The suspect is believed to be a white female wearing a wig, baseball hat, dark sunglasses white long sleeve shirt and brown shorts.

 

Witnesses in the area reported seeing a dark colored Honda passenger car possibly with Virginia plates parked for an extended time nearby. A second suspect was reported to be in the car, an African-American male with dreds.

 

Sheriff’s Units assisted by Maryland State Police and Centreville K9 searched the area after the incident aided by MSP Aviation. The investigation is assigned to the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit. Anyone with possible information is asked to call (410) 758-0770.

INCIDENT:          Traffic / CDS Possession

DATE / TIME:     03/30/2014 @ 2339 Hours

LOCATION:         Prospect Bay Road, Grasonville

 

ARREST:              Jarrett John Pilkington (26) of Grasonville

CHARGE:            Traffic / Possession of CDS (Marijuana)

 

NARRATIVE:       Citizen reported seeing a red Chevrolet pickup had run off the road and thru a fence at the Prospect Bay development. Deputy responded and checked the truck which was vacant. In looking for vehicle information a small amount of suspected marijuana was located and seized. The Deputy then went to the owner’s residence and spoke with a Jarrett J. Pilkington, who advised he had left the scene, went home and was going to remove the truck in the morning with his tractor.

 

Mr. Pilkington was placed under arrest and charged by citations with leaving the scene of an accident and Possession of Marijuana. He was then released on his signature.

NARRATIVE:       Victim reported missing her wedding band and engagement ring after two deliverymen were in the house delivering a television. The rings were last seen in a dish next to the sink and valued at $3-$4000. The delivery company has been contacted and the investigation continues.

NARRATIVE:       Owner of the store reported unknown person had made entry into the closed store and had stolen a small amount of cash and change on a couple occasions recently. In one instance, the cash register was heavily damaged. The loss total was estimated at $450. The case remains under investigation.

NARRATIVE:       Deputy called to assist EMS on a call. On arrival they located a half dressed man making numerous irrational statements and in obvious lack of self-care. The man was transported by ambulance to Chester River Medical Center for assistance.

LOCATION:         Tanyard Road, Centreville

 

ARREST:              Lee Weldon Petty (35) of Centreville

CHARGE:            Speeding / Possession of CDS (Marijuana)

 

NARRATIVE:       Dfc. Fraser was working a radar assignment on Tanyard Road outside of Centreville and stopped a red Pontiac four-door for speeding. During contact with the driver, Lee Petty the odor of raw marijuana was noted. The driver admitted there was a baggie with marijuana above the driver’s visor. The suspected marijuana was seized, a traffic citation issued and Mr. Petty was released at the scene with possession charges pending.  On April 4th, Lee Petty was served a criminal Summons for possession of CDS.

NARRATIVE:       Deputies were called to the residence for an argument between tenants. The upstairs tenant felt the neighbor below was being too loud and went downstairs to complain. An argument then occurred with the downstairs neighbor picking up a sledgehammer advising the upstairs neighbor to leave. Neither subject wanted any further action and were explained the process for a peace order if desired.

LOCATION:         MD 313 @ Elevator Road, Sudlersville

 

ARREST:              Gladys Chu Aguilar (38) of Marydel

CHARGE:            Driving without proper license, False Statement to Police Officer, Failure to secure child under age of 8 in child safety seat

 

NARRATIVE:       Deputy Gardner stopped a red passenger van for a severely cracked windshield. As he approached he saw two young children (ages 3 & 4) unsecured in child safety seats just roaming about the vehicle. The driver advised her name was Maria Perez. Unable to verify any of her information, she was placed under arrest. A family member was contacted and responded to take to two children from the scene.

 

At the Sheriff’s Headquarters. It was learned her identity was Gladys Chu Aguilar and that she had given a false name and DOB because she did not have a license and didn’t want to be arrested. She was issued charges and a District Court Commissioner held her on a $3000. Bail. ICE was also contacted and advised of her arrest and incarceration.

LOCATION:         200 Kent Landing, Stevensville

 

ARREST:              Heather Marie Hopkins (31) of Edgewater

CHARGE:            Possession of CDS (Heroin) – Possession of CDS Paraphernalia

 

NARRATIVE:       EMS had responded to the parking lot at 200 Kent Landing for a male who was overdosing. Prior to arrival by deputies he was transported from the scene to QA Emergency Room. Two females had been with the man in the car, (both from Edgewater). The driver consented to a search of the car and suspected heroin was located in one of the females purse. Heather Hopkins advised it was her husbands who had been taken to the hospital and she was placed under arrest for CDS Possession. The second female

Advised she was just giving them a ride and was released at the scene.

 

Heather Hopkins was held on a $7,000 bail by a District Court Commissioner. She was released the following day after a bail review and a posting by a bail bondsman. Charges are pending on the male suspect.

VICTIM:              Virginia A. Patchel of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim advised unknown person(s) had stolen her Sears Arrow Steel Shed kit and floor kit that were in her rear yard still in the boxes under a tarp. The shed kits were valued at $365.00. The theft occurred sometime between 3/22 and 3/25.

LOCATION:         165 Taylor Road, Centreville

VICTIM:              Ryan Slipper of Stevensville

 

NARRATIVE:       Victim advised that he had parked his 30 foot Nomad camper trailer at 165 Taylor Road. Since that property is under foreclosure he went to remove the trailer. Victim advised the trailer was in good condition but today he reported a male from the address had moved into the trailer. The trailer had extensive damage to walls, windows, upholstery, and waste system. In addition several metal items, Awning supports, propane tank cover and front louver were missing. Damages were estimated at $5000 to $6000.

LOCATION:         200 Block of Bryce Road, Queenstown

 

ARREST:              Crystal Lynn Whaley (51) of Queenstown

CHARGE:            Disturbance of the Peace – Failure to obey lawful order

 

NARRATIVE:       Kathleen Whaley reported there was an intoxicated female yelling obscenities in her back yard preventing her getting to sleep. On arrival the female was still yelling. As the deputy approached, the female Crystal Whaley turned and started to walk away. The deputy attempted to stop her as she went to open a truck door with two large dogs inside. When stopped, the female become upset and pushed the deputy. She then attempted to pen the truck door again and was placed under arrest.

 

Crystal Whaley was charged and held on a $1500 bail.

LOCATION:         QA Circuit Courthouse

DATE / TIME:     4/8/2014 @ 1000 Hours

ARREST:              Aaron Nathaniel Hines

 

NARRATIVE:       A citizen reported seeing a male subject hide a small backpack in the bushes near the QA Circuit Court. Cpl. English located the bag and found several documents in the name of Aaron Hines. Also in the backpack was a baggie of suspected marijuana and a small scale.

 

Hines was in Circuit Court and as he went to exit Deputies attempted to detain him. Hines fled the courthouse with several deputies in pursuit. With the assistance of Centreville Police, Hines was taken into custody in between a nearby convenience store and the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Center.

 

A further search of the backpack located an additional baggie of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia.

 

Hines was charged with Possession of CDS, Possession with intent to distribute CDS, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, and Fleeing & Eluding. Hines was held on a $20,000 bail.
